Abstract
1,117,085. Dust bag for vacuum cleaner. EQUITABLE PAPER BAG CO. Inc. 2 July, 1965, No. 28151/65. Heading BIT. [Also in Division B8] A disposable paper dust bag for a vacuum cleaner comprises a flat bottom 12 having an opening for the air inlet fitting, front and rear walls 14, 16 and two side walls (18), each side wall comprising four panels 41-44 connected to the front and rear walls and to each other by fold lines 51, 52, 46, 47, 48, lines 46, 47, 48 joining by and to diverging fold lines 58, 59, 61, 62 of which lines 58, 59 and 61, 62 fold in opposite directions. The arrows in Fig. 4 indicate directions in which the panels slope away from the observer, and the fold lines facilitate folding of the bag flat (Fig. 1, not shown). Further fold lines 68, 69 (70), (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) permit bottom 12 to fold over flat onto front 14. The top end of the bag is closed, the side panels folding flat with the front and rear walls which are secured together by a folded adhesive strip 30. The ends of strip 30 extend a little way beyond the bag sides and the top of the bag is folded over and stuck to rear wall 16 by adhesive on the outside of strip 30 (Fig. 9, not shown).
