Abstract
1,024,720. Bed-settees. SOC. GENERAL DE LITERIE. Feb. 19, 1965. No. 7299/65. Heading A4J. A foldable bed-settee mattress support comprises four pivotally inter-connected portions I. II, III and IV of which portions I and IV form the back rest and seat support of the settee respectively. The portions IV and III are connected to portions III and II, respectively, by pivot pins and by pairs of pivoted links 30, 31 and 22, 23, which links form a locking device in the folded and unfolded positions by links 30 and 22 bearing on one of the frame members 15, 19 or 27 of portions II, III and IV. An extension 35 of link 31 forms a leg for the bed. The portion III is braced by a U- shaped member 21, which forms a forwardly extending nose in the settee position upon which the ends of seat cushions C 3 and C 4 rest. These cushions together with back cushions C 1 and C 2 form the mattress. Bed clothes may be stored beneath the seat. The bed-settee may have fixed or removable arm rests D.
