Description

  • Verfahren zur Herstellung konsistenter, transparenter Schmiermittel Zusatz zum Patent 920 865 Gemäß Hauptpatent 92o 86s können konsistente, transparente Schmiermittel hergestellt werden, indem man in geeignete Mineral- oder Syntheseöle hochdisperseKieselsäure-Aerosole einbringt, welche eine Teilchengröße von etwa 5o m,u aufweisen. Solche Aerosole können beispielsweise durch Zersetzen flüchtiger Kieselsäureverbindungen in gasförmigem Zustand in wasserstoffhaltigen Flammen hergestellt werden. Hierbei werden die Strömungsgeschwindigkeiten der gasförmigen Stoffe zwecks Vermeidung einer Rekristallisation oder sonstiger unerwünschter Oberflächenveränderungen möglichst hoch, aber unterhalb des Schmelzpunktes der entstehenden Oxyde gehalten.
  • Im Hauptpatent wurde bereits darauf hingewiesen, daß die Struktur der jeweils angewandten Ausgangsöle auf die Gelbildung von großem Einfluß ist. Nicht alle Öle eignen sich gleichmäßig gut zur Herstellung solcher Schmiermittel. Es ist nun gefunden worden, daß auch an sich ungeeignete Öle zusammen. mit- Kieselsäure-Aerosolen brauchbare Schmiermittel ergeben, wenn man bei der Am reibung einen geringen Prozentsatz an Wasser und/oder ganz oder teilweise in Wasser löslichen organischen Verbindungen aromatischer oder aliphatischer Art mitverwendet, die eine oder mehrere Hydroxyl-, Keto-, Ester-, Äther- oder Aldehydgruppen enthalten. Sehr gut eignen sich Alkohole mit z bis ro Kohlenstoffatomen sowie die ihnen entsprechenden Säuren, Phenole, Ester, Äther oder Ketone. -Neben diesen die Gelierung der Anreibung hervorrufenden Zusätzen können die im Hauptpatent genannten peptisierenden oder als Schutzkollid wirkenden Stoffe zugesetzt werden. Auch kann man den Ölen vor, während oder nach der Einreibung der Kieselsäure-Aerosole noch solche Stoffe zufügen, die den Schmier- bzw. sonstigen Gebrauchswert erhöhen. Es können z. B. hochdruckaufnehmende Zusätze, wie Schwefel, Bleinaphthenat oder Schwefelchlor-Fettstoffverbindungen, zugefügt werden, desgleichen Graphit oder zähigkeitserhöhende Stoffe, wie Kautschuk, Polyisobutylen oder andere synthetische Polymerisate.
  • Wenn auch -die Struktur des Öls hinsichtlich seiner Eignung für die Herstellung der Schmierfette durch den Zusatz der erfindungsgemäß beanspruchten organischen Verbindungen oder Wasser weitgehend ausgeschaltet ist; so spielt doch dieMolekülgröße eine gewisse Rolle, obwohl hierfür keine allgemeine Regel aufzustellen ist. Insbesondere hat man es in der Hand, durch Wahl eines Öls geeigneter Molekülgröße Eigenschaften, wie z. B. die Ölabscheidung der Gallerte (Synhärese), zu regulieren.
  • Ebenfalls durch Wahl des geeigneten Öls wie auch durch Abstimmung der zugesetzten Kieselsäure-Aerosol-Menge oder durch die Wahl von Art und Menge der beanspruchten Verfestigungs-(Gelierungs-) Zusätze bzw. durch Einhaltung der geeigneten Anreibungstemperatur kann die Konsistenz des erzeugten Schmiermittels verändert oder in der gewünschten Höhe gehalten werden.

Claims (1)

  1. PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren zur Herstellung konsistenter, transparenter Schmiermittel gemäß Hauptpatent 92o 865, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man bei den Anreibungen von Mineral- und/oder Syntheseölen mit denKieselsäure-Aerosolen geringe Mengen Wasser und/oder solcher organischer Verbindungen aliphatischer oder aromatischer Art mitverwendet, die Sauerstoff in Form von Alkohol-, Aldehyd-, Keto-; Carboxyl-, Ester-, Äther- oder Phenolgrüppen enthalten.
