背景技术
电连接器在使用信号触头的电子设备之间提供信号连接。通常,信号触头如此紧密地间隔开,导致在相邻信号触头之间出现不期望的干扰,或“串音(cross talk)”。在一个信号触头中的信号由于干扰电场而在相邻信号触头中引起电干扰时,出现串音,从而有损于信号完整性。串音也可出现于差分信号对之间。串音随着干扰信号触头之间的距离减小而增大。串音可通过用接地触头将相邻信号触头或相邻差分信号对分开而减小。
随着电子设备微型化和高速的信号传输,高信号完整性的电子通信和串音的减小成为连接器设计中的重要因素。期望提供一种减少麻烦的串音出现的改进连接器,尤其是对于高速连接器。
发明内容
本公开的一个方面涉及在连接器的匹配端部处的更短的电接地路径。根据一个实施例,一种电连接器包括壳体以及由壳体承载的多个电信号触头。电信号触头每个限定匹配端部以及相反的相应安装端部。电连接器还包括接地板,其具有本体以及至少一个第一匹配端部和第二匹配端部,所述匹配端部每个在一个位置处从本体延伸出去以使得所述多个电信号触头中的至少一个的匹配端部布置于接地板的第一和第二匹配端部之间。接地板还包括连接于接地板的第一和第二匹配端部之间并且与所述多个电信号触头的所述至少一个的匹配端部绝缘的接地结合梁。

具体实施方式
最初参照图1-2B,电连接器组件20包括第一电连接器22和第二电连接器24,它们构造为彼此匹配以在互补的电气部件(比如基板26和28)之间建立电连接。根据所示实施例,每个基板26和28限定印刷电路板(PCB)。如所示,第一电连接器22能是竖直连接器,其限定匹配接口30以及基本上平行于匹配接口30延伸的安装接口32。第二电连接器24能是直角连接器,其限定匹配接口34以及基本上垂直于匹配接口34延伸的安装接口36。

每个信号触头44的匹配端部50能包括从引线框架壳体48沿着纵向向前方向向外延伸的颈部37。纵向向前方向也能称为插入或匹配方向,因为当电连接器24在纵向向前方向上被带向电连接器22时,连接器22和24能匹配。颈部37能在朝向引线框架壳体48的外表面58的方向上侧向地弯曲,以大致与接地板62的相应匹配端部66(参见图4A)对准,如下更详细描述的。每个信号触头44还能包括一对横向劈分的指状部43,其从颈部37纵向向外或向前地延伸。劈分的指状部43能弯曲和构造为与第一电连接器22的电触头33的匹配端部38相匹配。劈分的指状部43能是柔性的,并且能在与匹配端部38相匹配时挠曲以提供法向力。
每个信号触头44的安装端部52能限定从引线框架壳体48横向向下延伸的颈部53,以及从颈部53向下延伸的安装终端55。颈部53和/或安装终端55能朝着外表面58并且因而朝着接地板62成角度或弯曲。安装终端55能限定针眼或构造来电连接至基板26的任何适合可选形状。例如,安装终端55能压入到延伸入基板26的通孔中以便置于与沿着或穿过基板26延伸的电轨迹电相通。
电信号触头44可限定大约0.1mm至0.5mm的侧向材料厚度和大约0.1mm至0.9mm的横向高度。触头高度可在直角电信号触头44的长度上变化。电触头44能根据期望间隔开任何距离,如美国专利申请No.12/396,086所述。第二电连接器24也可包括可电绝缘或导电的IMLA组织器54。电连接器24能包括保持IMLA或引线框架组件46的导电IMLA组织器50。
至少一个或多个相邻电信号触头对44能构造为差分信号对45。根据一个实施例,差分信号对45是边缘结合的,也就是给定差分信号对45的每个电触头44的边缘49沿着共用横向列CL彼此面对。因而,电连接器22能包括沿着给定列CL布置的多个差分信号对45。如所示,电连接器22能包括沿着列CL定位的四个差分信号对45,不过电连接器24能根据期望包括沿着给定中心线的任何数目的差分信号对,比如两个、三个、四个、五个、六个或更多差分信号对。
因为匹配端部50和安装端部52彼此间基本上垂直,电信号触头44能称为直角电触头。类似地,因为匹配接口30基本上平行于安装接口32,第二电连接器24能提供为竖直牛角连接器。另外,因为匹配端部50构造来接收构造为插塞的互补电触头33的匹配端部38,电信号触头44能称为插座触头。应当理解到,然而,第二电连接器24能以任何期望构造提供以便将基板28电连接至第一电连接器22。例如,第二电连接器24能构造为牛角连接器,并且根据期望还能构造为竖直连接器。当连接器22和24安装至其相应基板26和28并且彼此匹配时,基板26和28置于电相通。
第一和第二电连接器22和24可以是无屏蔽高速电连接器,即,在电触头的相邻列之间没有金属串音板情况下操作的连接器,并且能以四吉比特/秒(Gigabits/sec)或更高的数据传输速率传输电信号越过微分对,并且通常是在6.25至12.5吉比特/秒之间或更大(大约80至35皮秒上升时间)下任何地方,在不超过6%的牺牲对上具有可接受的更坏情况,多源串音(multi-active crosstalk)。最坏情况,多源串音可由最靠近牺牲差分信号对的六个或八个攻击差分信号对的绝对值的总和来确定,如美国专利No.7,497,736中描述的。每个差分信号对可具有大约85至100欧姆毫秒(正负10%)的微分阻抗。微分阻抗例如可与电连接器22和24可附接其上的相应基板26和28相匹配。连接器22和24可具有大约-1dB或更小直到大约5千兆赫操作频率以及大约-2dB或更小直到大约10千兆赫操作频率的插入损失。
继续参照图3A至3D,每个引线框架组件46的引线框架壳体48限定侧向地相反的外表面56和58。引线框架壳体48能由任何适合的介电材料比如塑料制成,并且承载直角电信号触头44。引线框架组件46能构造为嵌入成型的引线框架组件,由此电信号触头44根据所示实施例由引线框架壳体48包覆成型。替代地,引线框架组件46的电信号触头44能缝合或以其它方式附接于引线框架48中。每个电信号触头44如上所述限定匹配端部50和安装端部52。匹配端部50沿着横向T对准,并且安装端部52沿着纵向L对准。信号触头44布置于能作为差分信号对的对45中。替代地,信号触头44能提供为单端的信号触头。选定的信号触头44,比如信号触头44的一个或多个直到全部的相邻对45由间隙60分开。电信号触头44还布置于引线框架壳体48中以使得间隙60将上部电信号触头44与引线框架46a的上端隔开。
还参照图4A-C,每个引线框架46还包括由引线框架壳体48承载的接地板62。接地板62限定构造为与电连接器22的互补接地触头相匹配的接地匹配端部66,以及构造为连接至基板26的相反接地安装端部68。接地板62限定布置于相邻匹配端部66之间的多个间隙79。接地板62还构造为在相邻列CL的差分信号对45之间提供电屏蔽。接地板62能由任何适合的导电材料比如金属制成,并且包括本体64、从本体64向前延伸的多个匹配端部66、以及从本体向下延伸的多个安装端部68。匹配端部66和安装端部68能如上所述相对于电信号触头44的匹配端部50和安装端部52构造。每个引线框架组件46的接地板62能离散地附接至引线框架壳体48或由相应的引线框架组件46的引线框架壳体48包覆成型。
继续参照图3A至4C,接地板62的每个匹配端部66能包括从本体64纵向向前地延伸的颈部61。颈部61能在朝着引线框架组件46的信号触头44的方向上侧向地弯曲,以使得匹配端部66与信号触头44的相应匹配端部50大致对准。因此,匹配端部66和50构造为与互补第一电连接器22的电触头的匹配端部38相匹配。接地板62的每个匹配端部66还能包括一对横向地劈分的指状部,其包括每个都从颈部61纵向地向前延伸的第一或上部指状部63a以及第二或下部指状部63b。指状部63a和63b能弯曲并且构造为与电触头33的匹配端部38相匹配。指状部63a和63b能是柔性的以便在与匹配端部38相匹配时挠曲以提供法向力。指状部63a和63b与电信号触头44的指状部43相比能纵向向前地延伸更远。每个匹配端部66限定从接地板64延伸出去的远端71以及与每个指状部63a和63b相反的远端梢部73。

接地板62的匹配端部66限定接地匹配端部,并且沿着横向T对准,并且还沿着横向T与信号触头44的匹配端部58对准。接地板62的匹配端部66能相对于信号触头44的匹配端部58纵向向外地偏移。安装端部68沿着纵向L对准,并且沿着纵向L与安装端部52对准。匹配端部66定位为与信号触头的匹配端部50的对45相邻和/或在其之间,并且安装端部68定位为与安装端部52的对相邻和/或在其之间。因而,电连接器24的匹配接口34包括电信号触头44的匹配端部50以及接地板62的匹配端部66,并且电连接器24的安装接口36包括电信号触头44的安装端部52和接地板62的安装端部66。
根据所示实施例,在接地板62附接至引线框架壳体48时,匹配端部66布置于相邻电信号触头44的一对匹配端部50之间。匹配端部66因而能因此布置于相邻差分信号对45的匹配端部50之间的间隙60中,以使得匹配端部50和66沿着电连接器24的匹配接口34等距地隔开。同样,接地板62的匹配端部68布置于在相邻信号对45的安装端部52之间延伸的间隙60中,以使得安装端部68和52沿着电连接器24的安装接口36等距地隔开。
第一多个引线框架组件46a能同样地构造,并且构造为使得在接地板62附接至引线框架壳体48时,至少一个直到全部引线框架组件46a的匹配接口34以匹配端部50和66的第一模式布置。根据所示实施例,第一接触布置是重复的G-S-S模式,在此“G”标识接地板62的匹配端部66,并且“S”标识电信号触头44的匹配端部50,并且重复的G-S-S中的两个相邻“S”能标识差分信号对45。由于匹配端部66和50从匹配接口34的顶部沿着相应的列CL朝着安装接口36在向下方向上以G-S-S模式布置,IMLA 26a以及相应的匹配端部50和66能认为限定重复的G-S-S模式。安装端部52和68因此同样地从引线框架46a的后端朝着引线框架46a的前端或匹配接口34在纵向方向上以重复的G-S-S模式布置。

接地板64能在一个位置处由引线框架壳体48保持以使得接地板64的匹配端部63布置于相邻差分信号对45的匹配端部50之间。接地板62能插入到引线框架壳体48中、由引线框架壳体48包覆成型、或者不然的话由引线框架壳体48承载或保持以使得引线框架组件48的尺寸与包含离散信号触头以及由引线框架壳体包覆成型或不然的话结合至壳体的接地触头的常规引线框架组件基本上相等。接地板本体64跨越布置于引线框架壳体48中的多个直到全部的差分信号对45的一部分。引线框架组件46不包括离散接地触头,而是包括提供低阻抗共用路径以截取或消耗闲杂电磁能量的接地板62,否则这些电磁能量将是相邻引线框架组件48的电信号触头44之间的串音来源。接地板48能构造为在使用期间反射由信号触头44产生的电磁能量,不过应当理解到,板能替代地构造为吸收电磁能量。例如,接地板62能由任何有损耗材料、传导性或非传导性材料制成。
参照图3A-4C,每个接地板62能包括至少一个连接于匹配端部66的至少一个选择对之间的接地结合梁82。因而,接地结合梁82能连接于每个都布置于相邻电信号触头44之间的第一和第二匹配端部66之间,并且尤其连接于相邻的差分信号对45之间。另外,一对电信号触头44,比如差分信号对45,布置于由接地结合梁82连接的第一和第二匹配端部66之间。根据所示实施例,引线框架组件46包括多个接地结合梁82。每个接地结合梁82连接于相邻的匹配端部66之间,并且是传导性的以便通过接地结合梁82将相邻的匹配端部置于电通信。尤其,每个接地结合梁82连接于给定匹配端部66的一个而不是两个指状部63a和63b之间。例如,每个接地结合梁82连接至第一或上部匹配端部66的下部指状部63b和第二或下部匹配端部66的上部指状部63a。应当理解到,然而,一个或多个接地梁82能连接于相邻匹配端部66的指状部63a和63b之间,并且根据期望还能连接于给定匹配端部66的指状部63a和63b之间。因而,至少一个接地梁82能连接至期望数量的匹配端部66,直到接地板62的全部匹配端部66。接地结合梁82根据期望能与匹配端部66成整体或离散地连接至匹配端部66。
接地板62的匹配端部66能定尺寸为使得指状部63a和63b与电信号触头44的指状部43相比纵向向前地延伸更远。因而,接地结合梁82能沿着平行于列CL的笔直横向在从电信号触头44的指状部43向前隔开的纵向位置处的相邻匹配端部66的指状部63a和63b之间连接至指状部63a和63b,以使得接地结合梁82与电信号触头44电绝缘。根据所示实施例,接地结合梁82连接至指状部63a和63b的远端梢部73,以使得指状部63a和63b不纵向地延伸超过接地结合梁82。
然而,应当理解到,接地结合梁82能根据期望连接至匹配端部66的任何位置。例如,接地结合梁82能在与电信号触头44的匹配端部50对准的位置处连接至匹配端部66,并且能沿着相对于横向成角度偏移(例如,弯曲)的方向延伸以避免与电信号触头44的匹配端部50相接触。例如,指状部63a和63b的远端梢部73能与电信号触头44的指状部43的远端共线。每个接地结合梁82能根据期望限定任何横截面形状,比如圆形、矩形、方形或任何替代形状。
因而,电连接器24包括由引线框架壳体48并且因而由介电壳体42保持的多个电信号触头44。电信号触头44限定匹配端部50以及相反的安装端部52。电连接器24还包括接地板62,其具有本体64、至少一个第一匹配端部66以及至少一个第二匹配端部66,第二匹配端部66在一个位置处从本体64延伸出以使得至少一个电信号触头44的匹配端部50布置于接地板62的第一和第二匹配端部66之间。根据所示实施例,一对电信号触头44(比如差分信号对45)的匹配端部66接收于布置于接地板62的第一和第二匹配端部66之间的间隙79中。接地板62还包括第三匹配端部66,其在一个位置处从本体64延伸出来以使得至少第二电信号触头44(比如一对电信号触头44,或差分信号对45)的匹配端部接收于布置于第二和第三匹配端部66之间的间隙79中。接地板62包括连接于在第一和第二匹配端部66之间的第一接地结合梁82,以及连接于第二和第三匹配端部66之间的第二接地结合梁82。另外,由于第一和第二接地结合梁82连接于第二匹配端部66的相互分开的劈分指状部63a和63b之间,第一和第二接地结合梁82相互绝缘以使得沿着第一和第二接地结合梁82形成的电气路径不直接从第一接地结合梁82行进至第二接地结合梁,而是从第一接地结合梁82沿着第二匹配端部行进进入第二接地结合梁82。
不受理论限制,相信接地板62的连接匹配端部66允许在使用期间产生的相对极性的场混合并且相互取消,从而“重设”接地。因此,期望缩短未连接的接地路径的长度。如美国专利序列号No.12/393,794中描述的,理解到,缩短电连接器组件20中的在两个连接器22和24匹配时的最长未结合电气接地路径能同样向上位移共振频率以便允许操作期间更大的工作带宽。由于接地路径在电连接器24安装于此的基板28处结合并且进一步在接地板本体64处结合,接地在这些位置处重设。接地板62的匹配端部66和第一电连接器22的互补电触头33的匹配端部48也限定电接地路径长度。通过将接地结合梁82定位于接地板62的匹配端部66处,电连接器24的匹配接口34处的电接地路径长度缩短,由此以上述方式增大电连接器24的共振频率。
因此,电连接器24被认为提供了对于具有离散接地触头的无屏蔽高密度直角电连接器的改进,同时在没有显著地增加电感情况下避免阻抗匹配的降低。根据一个实施例,常规电连接器通过移除离散接地触头并且由接地板62替换离散接地触头来变型。因而,预变型的电连接器与电连接器24基本上相同,不过移除了离散接地触头并且添加了接地板62。接地板62具有与电信号触头44的相应匹配端部50和安装端部52对准的匹配端部66和安装端部68部分。根据本公开的一个方面,相对于预变型连接器而言阻抗没有显著地改变,电感低于相同预变型连接器中的接地触头,与相同预变型连接器相比串音更低,并且预变型连接器的总体尺寸与电连接器24的尺寸基本上相同。
如参照图2A所述,电连接器24包括多个引线框架组件46,引线框架组件46包括沿着跨过电连接器24的侧行方向(lateral rowdirection)交替地布置的第一多个引线框架组件46a和第二多个引线框架组件46b。现在参照图5A-C,每个第二多个引线框架组件46b相对于第一多个引线框架组件46a如上所述构造,但是,第二多个引线框架组件46b限定与第一多个引线框架组件46a的第一电触头布置不同的第二电触头布置。
第二引线框架组件46b的接地板62构造为使得在由第二引线框架组件46b的引线框架壳体48包覆成型或不然的话连接至壳体48时匹配端部66布置于间隙60中。因此,每个第二多个引线框架46b如上所述以重复的S-S-G模式限定触头布置。
因而应当理解到,能提供多个接地板62,以使得与第一多个引线框架组件46a的引线框架组件相应的至少第一接地板62与和第二多个引线框架组件64b的引线框架组件相应的至少第二接地板62不同地构造。尤其,第二多个引线框架组件46b的接地板62的匹配端部66从相应本体46的一个位置延伸,这个位置与本体46的第一多个引线框架组件46a的接地板62的匹配端部66由此延伸的位置不同。根据所示实施例,第一多个接地板62(例如,第一多个引线框架组件46a的接地板)的匹配端部66相对于第二一个或多个接地板62(例如,第二多个引线框架组件46b)的匹配端部横向地偏移。因而,多个接地板62能包括第一接地板和如上所述与第一接地板不同地构造的第二接地板。

Claims (15)

1.一种电连接器,其包括:
绝缘壳体;
由壳体承载的多个电信号触头,电信号触头每个限定匹配端部以及相反的相应安装端部;以及
接地板,其具有本体以及至少第一匹配端部和第二匹配端部,所述至少第一匹配端部和第二匹配端部每个在一个位置处从本体延伸出去以使得所述多个电信号触头中的至少一个的匹配端部布置于接地板的第一和第二匹配端部之间,接地板还包括连接于接地板的第一和第二匹配端部之间并且与所述多个电信号触头的所述至少一个的匹配端部绝缘的接地结合梁。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中所述多个电信号触头包括差分信号对,并且差分信号对的匹配端部布置于接地板的第一和第二匹配端部之间。
3.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中接地板还包括第三匹配端部,其在一个位置处从本体延伸出去以使得至少一个第二电信号触头的匹配端部布置于第二和第三匹配端部之间。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其中接地结合梁是第一接地结合梁,并且电连接器还包括连接于接地板的第二和第三匹配端部之间并且与第二电信号触头绝缘的第二接地结合梁。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其中第一接地结合梁与第二接地结合梁绝缘。
6.如权利要求5所述的电连接器,其中接地板的第一和第二匹配端部包括一对隔开的指状部,以使得这对隔开的指状部之一连接至第一接地结合梁并且这对隔开的指状部的另一个连接至第二接地结合梁。
7.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中接地板的第一和第二匹配端部从本体延伸出去至相对于电信号触头的匹配端部向前的位置。
8.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中所述接地结合梁在所述多个电信号触头中的至少一个的匹配端部的向前位置处连接于接地板的第一和第二匹配端部之间。
9.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中壳体包覆成型到所述多个电信号触头上。
10.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其中接地板是导电的。
11.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,还包括第一多个引线框架壳体和第二多个引线框架壳体,所述第一多个引线框架壳体和第二多个引线框架壳体每个保持相应多个电信号触头,以使得第一多个引线框架壳体以第一布置保持其相应多个电信号触头,并且第二多个引线框架壳体以与第一布置不同的第二布置保持其相应多个电信号触头。
12.一种构造为将附接至引线框架组件的引线框架壳体的接地板,该接地板包括:
传导性板本体;
从板本体延伸的多个第一匹配端部和安装端部,第一匹配端部构造为与互补电连接器的电触头匹配,并且安装端部构造为将安装到印刷电路板上,其中相邻第一匹配端部之间限定了相应的间隙,间隙构造为接收引线框架组件的至少一个电信号触头的第二匹配端部;以及
连接于至少一对选定的第一匹配端部之间的接地结合梁。
13.根据权利要求12所述的接地板,其中每个第一匹配端部包括一对隔开的指状部,以使得接地结合梁连接至每个第一匹配端部的这对隔开的指状部中的一个,而不是每个第一匹配端部的两个隔开的指状部。
14.多个接地板,其包括:
第一接地板,其包括:
第一本体;
从第一本体延伸的多个第一匹配端部和第一安装端部,第一匹配端部构造为与互补电连接器的电触头相匹配,并且第一安装端部构造为将安装到印刷电路板上;
连接于至少一对选定的第一匹配端部之间的第一接地结合梁;
第二接地板,其包括:
第二本体;
从第二本体延伸的多个第二匹配端部和第二安装端部,匹配端部构造为与互补电连接器的电触头相匹配,并且安装端部构造为将安装到印刷电路板上;以及
连接于至少一对选定的第二匹配端部之间的第二接地结合梁,
其中第一匹配端部在一个位置处从第一本体延伸,所述位置与第二匹配端部从第二本体延伸的位置不同。
15.如权利要求14所述的多个接地板,其中所述选定的第一匹配端部对的每个限定相应的第一和第二对劈分的指状部,以使得第一和第二对劈分指状部的每个的一个指状部连接至第一接地结合梁。
