Description

電連接器使用信號接觸件在電子器件之間提供信號連接。通常,該等信號接觸件相鄰太近,以致相鄰信號接觸件之間出現非需求的干擾或「串擾」。當一信號接觸件中的一信號由於干擾電場在一相鄰信號接觸件中引致電干擾時會出現串擾,因而危及信號完整度。串擾亦可出現在差動信號對之間。串擾隨該等干擾信號接觸件之間的距離的減小而增大。可藉由分離相鄰信號接觸件或具有接地接觸件之相鄰差動信號對來減小串擾。
隨著電子器件的小型化及高速信號傳輸,高信號完整度的電子通信及串擾的減少在連接器設計中成為一個重要因素。期望提供一經改良的連接器來減少串擾出現的問題,尤其是高速連接器之串擾。
本發明之一態樣係關於連接器之一配接端處的一較短電接地路徑。根據一實施例,一電連接器包含一外殼及由該外殼承載的複數個電信號接觸件。該等電信號接觸件各界定配接端及相對的各別安裝端。該電連接器進一步包含一接地盤,該接地盤具有一本體及各在一位置處自該本體向外延伸之至少一第一配接端及一第二配接端,使得該複數個電信號接觸件之至少一者之該配接端係佈置在該接地盤之該第一配接端及該第二配接端之間。該接地盤進一步包含一接地耦合樑,該接地耦合樑係連接在該接地盤之該第一配接端與該第二配接端之間且與該複數個電信號接觸件之至少一者之配接端隔離。

首先參考圖1至圖2B,一電連接器總成20包含一第一電連接器22及一第二電連接器24,其等係經組態以相互配接以在互補式電組件(諸如,基板26及基板28)之間建立一電連接。根據該所繪示實施例,各基板26及基板28界定一印刷電路板(PCB)。如圖所示,該第一電連接器22可為一垂直連接器,該垂直連接器界定一配接介面30及大體上平行於該配接端30延伸的一安裝介面32。該第二電連接器24可為一直角連接器,該直角連接器界定一配接端34及大體上垂直於該配接介面34延伸之一安裝介面36。

該等電信號接觸件44可界定厚度為約0.1 mm至0.5 mm且橫向高度為約0.1 mm至0.9 mm之一側向材料。該接觸件高度可在該等直角電信號接觸件44之整個長度中變化。該等電接觸件44可以任何所需距離分隔開,如美國專利申請案第12/396,086號中所描述。該第二電連接器24亦可包含可電絕緣或導電之一IMLA組合體54。該電連接器24可包含保持該等IMLA或引線框總成46之一導電IMLA組合體50。
至少一對或多對相鄰電信號接觸件44可經組態為差動信號對45。根據一實施例,該等差動信號對45為邊緣耦合,即,一給定差動對45之各電接觸件44之該等邊緣49沿一共同橫向行CL面向彼此。因此,該電連接器22可包含沿一給定行CL配置的複數個差動信號對45。如所繪示,該電連接器22可包含沿該行CL邊靠邊定位之四個差動信號對45,儘管該電連接器24可按需要包含沿一給定中心線之任意數目個差動信號對,諸如兩個、三個、四個、五個、六個或更多差動信號對。
因為該等配接端50與該等安裝端52大體上相互垂直,所以該等電信號接觸件44可稱為直角電接觸件。類似地,因為該配接介面30係大體上平行於該安裝介面32,所以該第二電連接器24可經提供為一垂直接頭連接器。此外,因為該等配接端50係經組態以接收作為經組態為插頭之該等互補式電接觸件33之該等配接端38,該等電信號接觸件44可稱為插座接觸件。然而,應瞭解可將該第二電連接器24提供在任意所需組態中以將該基板28電連接至該第一電連接器22。例如,該第二電連接器24可經組態為一接頭連接器,且可進一步按需要組態為一垂直連接器。當該等連接器22及24係經安裝至其各別的基板26及28且相互配接時,該等基板26及28係處於電連通中。
該第一及第二電連接器22及24可為無遮蔽高速電連接器,亦即,在電接觸件的相鄰行之間無金屬串擾板下操作的連接器,且該等連接器可以4 Gigabits/sec或以上的資料傳送速率橫跨差動對傳輸電信號,且在可接受的最糟情形(在不多於六個百分比的一受害對上存在多個作用串擾)下該速率通常在6.25 Gigabits/sec至12.5 Gigabits/sec之間或更多(約80至35皮秒上升時間)。最糟情形為,多個作用串擾可由最接近於該受害差動信號對的六個或八個侵略(aggresssor)差動信號對之絕對值的和決定,此描述於美國專利第7,497,736號。各差動信號對可具有約為85歐姆至100歐姆(正或負百分之十)之一差動阻抗。該差動阻抗可匹配至(例如)該等電連接器22及24可附接的各別基板26及28。該等連接器22及24在至高約為5 Gigahertz之操作頻率可具有約為-1 dB或更少的插入損失及至高約10 Gigahertz 之操作頻率的約為-2 dB或更少的插入損失。
繼續參考圖3A至圖3D,各引線框總成46之引線框外殼48界定側向相對之外表面56及58。該引線框外殼48可由任意合適的介電材料(諸如,塑膠)組成且可承載直角電信號接觸件44。可將該等引線框總成46總成組態為插入模塑引線框總成,藉此根據該所繪示實施例該等電信號接觸件44係由該引線框外殼48包覆模塑成型。或者,可將該等引線框總成46之該等電信號接觸件44連接或者附接在該引線框外殼48中。各電信號接觸件44界定上文所述之一配接端50及一安裝端52。沿橫向T對準該等配接端50,且沿縱向L對準該等安裝端52。該等信號接觸件44係成對45配置,其可為差動信號對。或者,該等信號接觸件44可提供為單一端信號接觸件。該等信號接觸件44之所選接觸件(諸如,一或多個至多所有信號接觸件44之相鄰對45)係由一間隙60分開。該等電信號接觸件44係進一步設置在該引線框外殼48中,使得該間隙60將上方電信號接觸件44與該引線框46a之上方端隔開。
亦參考圖4A至圖4C,各引線框總成46進一步包含由該引線框外殼48承載的一接地盤62。該接地盤62界定經組態與該電連接器22之互補式接地接觸件配接的接地配接端66及經組態連接至該基板26之相對接地安裝端68。該接地盤62界定設置在相鄰配接端66之間的複數個間隙79。該接地盤62進一步經組態以在相鄰行CL之差動信號對45之間提供一電遮蔽。該接地盤62可由任何合適的導電材料(諸如金屬)形成,且包含一本體64、自該本體64向前延伸之複數個配接端66及自該本體向下延伸之複數個安裝端68。該等配接端66及安裝端68可如上文所描述之關於該等電信號接觸件44之該等配接端50及安裝端52構建。各引線框總成46之該接地盤62可離散地附接至該引線框外殼48或由該各別引線框總成46之該引線框外殼48包覆模塑成型。

可將該等接地盤62之該等配接端66定大小,使得該等指狀物63a及63b比該等電信號接觸件44之該等指狀物43縱向向前延伸得更遠。因此,該等接地耦合樑82可於一縱向位置處(在該處與該等電信號接觸件44之該等指狀物43向前隔開)在相鄰配接端66之該等指狀物63a與63b之間沿平行於該行CL之一筆直橫向中連接至該等指狀物63a及63b,使得該等接地耦合樑82與該等電信號接觸件44電性隔離。根據該所繪示實施例,該等接地耦合樑82係連接至該等指狀物63a及63b之該等遠側尖端73,使得該等指狀物63a及63b不縱向延伸超過該等接地耦合樑82。

因此,該電連接器24包含由該引線框外殼48(且因此該介電外殼42)所保持的複數個電信號接觸件44。該等電信號接觸件44界定配接端50及相對安裝端52。該電連接器24

在不受理論限制下,咸信該接地盤62之所連接之配接端66允許在使用期間所產生的相反極場混合且相互抵消,藉此「重新設定」該接地。因此,期望縮短未連接的接地路徑的長度。如美國專利申請案第12/393,794號中所述,應
瞭解到在該兩個連接器22及24配接時縮短電連接器總成20中的最長未耦合電接地路徑長度可類似地向上移動共振頻率,以在操作期間允許一更大的工作頻寬。因為該等接地路徑係耦合在安裝有該電連接器24之該基板28上,且進一步耦合在該接地盤本體64上,所以在該等位置重新設定該等接地。該接地盤62之該等配接端66及該第一電連接器22之該等互補式電接觸件33之該等配接端38亦界定一電接地路徑長度。藉由將該接地耦合樑82定位在該接地盤62之該等配接端66上,該電連接器24之該配接介面34上的該等電接地路徑長度被縮短,藉此以上述方式增加該電連接器24之共振頻率。
因此,咸信該電連接器24將提供優於具有離散接地接觸件的無遮蔽、高密度、直角電連接器之改良,同時在無明顯電感增加時避免阻抗匹配之減小。根據一實施例,藉由移除該等離散接地接觸件且以該接地盤62替代該等離散接地接觸件來修改一習知電連接器。因此,除該等離散接地接觸件之移除及該接地盤62之添加之外,預先修改的電連接器實質上相同於該電連接器24。具有配接端66及安裝端68部分之該接地盤62與該等電信號接觸件44之該等各別配接端50及安裝端52對準。根據本發明之一態樣,阻抗並不隨一預先修改的連接器顯著改變,電感低於該相同預先改進的連接器中的該等接地接觸件,與該相同預先修改連接器相比串擾更低,且該預先修改連接器之總尺寸實質上與該電連接器24之該等總尺寸相同。
如上文參考圖2A所述,該電連接器24包含複數個引線框總成46,該等引線框總成46包含沿橫跨該電連接器24之側向列方向交替地配置的第一複數個引線框總成46a及第二複數個引線框總成46b。現在參考圖5A至圖5C,該第二複數個引線框總成46b之各者按上文相對於該第一複數個引線框總成46a構建,然而,該第二複數個引線框總成46b界定不同於該第一複數個引線框總成46a之該第一電接觸件配置的一第二電接觸件配置。
組態該等第二引線框總成46b之該接地盤62使得該等配接端66當藉由該第二引線框總成46b之該引線框外殼48包覆模塑成型或連接至該第二引線框總成46b之該引線框外殼48時該等配接端66係設置在該間隙60中。因此,該第二複數個引線框總成46b之各者將一接觸件配置界定在上述之該重複S-S-G中。
因此,應瞭解可提供複數個接地盤62,使得對應於該第一複數個引線框總成46a之一引線框總成之至少一第一接地盤62的構建係不同於對應於該第二複數個引線框總成46b之一引線框總成之至少一第二接地盤62。特定言之,該第二複數個引線框總成46b之該等接地盤62之該等配接端66自該各別本體64之一位置延伸,其中該位置不同於該第一複數個引線框總成46a之該等接地盤62之該等配接端66自該本體延伸之位置。根據該所繪示實施例,一第一複數個接地盤62(例如,該第一引線框總成46a之接地盤)之該等配接端66係相對一第二或複數個接地盤62(例如,該第二複數個引線框總成46b之接地盤)之該等配接端橫向偏移。因此,複數個接地盤62可包含一第一接地盤及不同於上文所述之該第一接地盤而構建的一第二接地盤。

Claims (15)
- 一種電連接器,其包括:一絕緣外殼;複數個電信號接觸件,其係由該外殼承載,該等電信號接觸件各界定配接端及相對之各別安裝端;及一接地盤,其具有一本體及至少一第一配接端及一第二配接端,該接地盤之該第一配接端及該第二配接端各自一位置處之該本體向外延伸,使得該複數個電信號接觸件之至少一者之配接端係設置在該接地盤之該第一配接端與該第二配接端之間,該接地盤進一步包含一接地耦合樑,該接地耦合樑係連接至該接地盤之該第一配接端與該第二配接端之間且與該複數個電信號接觸件之至少一者之配接端隔離。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中該複數個電信號接觸件包括一差動信號對且該差動信號對之該等配接端係設置在該接地盤之該第一配接端與該第二配接端之間。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中複數個電信號接觸件包含至少一第二電信號接觸件,該接地盤進一步包括一第三配接端,該第三配接端自一位置處之該本體向外延伸使得該第二電信號接觸件之配接端係設置在該第二配接端與該第三配接端之間。
- 如請求項3之電連接器,其中該接地耦合樑係一第一接地耦合樑,且該電連接器進一步包括一第二接地耦合樑,該第二接地耦合樑係連接在該接地盤之該第二配接 端與該第三配接端之間且係與該第二電信號接觸件隔離。
- 如請求項4之電連接器,其中該第一接地耦合樑係與該第二接地耦合樑隔離。
- 如請求項5之電連接器,其中該等接地盤之該第一配接端及該第二配接端包含一對隔開的指狀物,使得該對隔開的指狀物之一者係連接至該第一接地耦合樑且該對隔開的指狀物之另一者係連接至該第二接地耦合樑。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中該接地盤之該第一配接端及該第二配接端自該本體向外延伸至相對於該等電信號接觸件之該配接端前向的一位置。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中該接地耦合棒係在該複數個電信號接觸件之至少一者的配接端前向的一位置處於該接地盤之該第一及第二配接端之間連接。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中該外殼係經包覆模塑成型在該複數個電信號接觸件上。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其中該接地盤係導電。
- 如請求項1之電連接器,其進一步包括複數個外殼,該複數個外殼各保持各別複數個電信號接觸件,使得第一複數個外殼將其之各別複數個電信號接觸件保持在一第一配置中,且第二複數個外殼將其之各別複數個電信號接觸件保持在不同於該第一配置的一第二配置中。
- 一種經組態以附接至一引線框總成之一引線框外殼的接地盤,該接地盤包括: 一導電盤本體;自該盤本體延伸之複數個配接端及安裝端,該等配接端係經組態以與一互補式電連接器之電接觸件配接,且該等安裝端係經組態以安裝在一印刷電路板上,其中相鄰配接端界定其間的各別間隙,該等間隙係經組態以接收該引線框總成之至少一電信號接觸件之一配接端;及連接在至少一對所選配接端之間的一接地耦合樑。
- 如請求項12之接地盤,其中各配接端包括一對隔開的指狀物,使得該接地耦合樑係連接至該對所選配接端之該對隔開的指狀物之一者,但是未連接至該對所選配接端之兩個隔開的指狀物。
- 一種複數形式接地盤,其包括:一第一接地盤,其包含:一第一本體;自該第一本體延伸之複數個第一配接端及第一安裝端,該等第一配接端係經組態與一互補式電連接器之電接觸件配接,且該等第一安裝端係經組態安裝在一印刷電路板上;連接在該等第一配接端之至少一對所選配接端之間的一第一接地耦合樑;一第二接地盤,其包含:一第二本體;自該第二本體延伸之複數個第二配接端及第二安裝端,該等配接端係經組態與該互補式電連接器之電接 觸件配接,且該等安裝端係經組態安裝在該印刷電路板上;及連接在該等第二配接端之至少一對所選配接端之間的一第二接地耦合樑;其中該等第一配接端在不同於該等第二配接端自該第二本體延伸之位置的位置處自該第一本體延伸。
- 如請求項14之複數接地盤,其中該等第一配接端之該對所選配接端之各者界定分離指狀物之各別第一對及第二對,使得分離指狀物的該第一對及該第二對之各者之一個而非兩個指狀物係連接至該第一接地耦合樑。
