Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   The present invention patent application relates to a new device for mounting the cranks of cycle pedals which can also be applied to mopeds.

  This new assembly, which has the great advantage of almost completely eliminating the -3 top and bottom dead points, also allows a much more energetic start because the force exerted by the cyclist at the time of said start is applied to the periphery. of the large chain sprocket None of this effort is therefore wasted in the torsion of the crank axle as occurs with the ordinary assembly of the cranks
To make the invention clearly understood, it has been represented, by way of example only and not as a limitation, in the appended drawing where FIG.

   1 present front view of the left crank of a bicycle on which the pedal is mounted and shows four different positions of this crank

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 Fig.2 is the side view of Fig.I and Fig.3 is a view of another, simpler assembly mode of the cranks resulting from the assembly, Fig.I.

   In drawing 4 is the large chain sprocket, 5 the crank, 6 a connecting rod, 7,8.9 different positions of the crank ;, 10 a stop relieving the fixing button 12 on the large chain sprocket, 11 lta rticula tion of the crank 5 with the bicellatte 6 articulated itself at 15 on the large chain sprocket 13, the axis of the pedal not shown.

   As we can see on examination of the drawing and by imagining the right crank at its low point, that is to say on vertical 14, the position of the cyclist being always a little behind the vertical, his effort , because of the inclined position of the crank, will have the effect of facilitating the passage of the top dead center. It is also the top dead center that must be passed twice per revolution of the large pinion 4 The very serious tests which have been carried out have shown a certain advantage of this new assembly.
