We would like to analize in the present study, the presence of animal symbolism (the image of the griffin) and vegetal symbolism (the image of the rose) in texts, as well as in different visual representations, belonging to the 17-18th c. in the Romanian Medieval figurative and religiouse culture (minatures, a fresco wall paintings, stone works etc.).
We are focusing on the religiouse culture during the rule of Constantin Brâncoveanu and the consequenses of his preocupation for culture and book printing during the following century.
