I am a philosophy professor from Brazil.
My area of specialization is the philosophy of formal sciences—I wrote an MA thesis on conceptual, philosophical aspects of the standard system for deontic logic (UFSM 2006) and Ph.D. dissertation on the philosophical controversies surrounding the Four-Color Theorem proof (PUC-Rio 2013, also awarded in 2014 as the best Brazilian thesis in philosophy).
Since the end of my Ph.D. I have been teaching logic, philosophy of mathematics and philosophical methodology in undergraduate and graduate programs.
The varieties of connections between computer science and mathematical practices, such as proving and calculating, were my main research interests until recently.
I am currently developing a research project called *The interplay between diagrams and computers in the proofs of the Four-Color Theorem*, which I started during to my sabbatical year in France, trough a CAPES-Cofecub project at the Université Jean-Moulin Lyon 3. I have no financial support for this research.
I have taught introduction to logic and to philosophy since I was an undergraduate student. In recent years, as a tenured professor, I’ve dedicated myself to preparing High School teachers (especially running a project called PIBID Interdisciplinar UFRGS Campus do Vale—2014-2016), focusing on the development of logic skills as an interdisciplinary means to teach philosophy.
While working at UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, from 2013 to 2018) I also organized four editions (2014-2017) of a Workshop on Teaching Philosophy; I organized the first conference *Vozes Femininas na Filosofia* (2017), and together with Ana Rieger Schmidt and Inara Zanuzzi, edited a homonym volume (2018).
I am an associate member of the Grupo Conesul de Filosofia das Ciências Formais (GCFCF), a member of the Association for the Philosophy of Mathematical Practice (APMP—I also organized the Fourth APMP Meeting in Salvador/Brazil, in 2017) and one of the founding members of the Rede Brasileira de Mulheres na Filosofia. I am also part of the *New Voices of Women in the HIstory of Philosophy* and the *Extending New Narratives in the History of Philosophy*. During 2018, when back to UFSM, I’ve organized a translation group of texts written by women philosophers and a seminar on rewriting the philosophical canon.
My area of interest lies mostly in the articulation between the philosophy of formal sciences, the rewriting of the philosophical canon and issues regarding logic as an interdisciplinary tool for teaching practices in Brazilian high schools.

community in a pair of papers by Appel and Haken in the late 1970s provoked a series of philosophical debates. Many conceptual points of these disputes still require some elucidation. After a brief presentation of the main ideas of Appel and Haken’s procedure for the proof and a reconstruction of Thomas Tymoczko’s argument for the novelty of 4CT’s proof, we shall formulate some questions regarding the connections between the points raised by Tymoczko and some Wittgensteinian topics in the philosophy of mathematics such as the importance of the surveyability as a criterion for distinguishing mathematical proofs from empirical experiments. Our aim is to show that the “characteristic Wittgensteinian invention” (Mühlhölzer, 2006) – the strong distinction between proofs and experiments – can shed some light on the conceptual confusions surrounding the Four-Colour Theorem.

Este livro apresenta-se como o resultado da contribuição de professores e pesquisadores de diversos campos da filosofia e de diferentes universidades brasileiras durante a ocasião do I Encontro “Vozes femininas na Filosofia”, ocorrido em junho de 2017, na UFRGS, em Porto Alegre, RS.
Nossa motivação parte da constatação que a área de filosofia nas universidades brasileiras sofre de uma evidente crise de representatividade: tanto nos cursos de graduação como nos programas de pós-graduação em filosofia, nos quais menos de 30 % são mulheres, entre docentes e discentes. Procura-se, por meio dos textos organizados neste volume, entender a produção e a contribuição de filósofas cujas presenças se mostram diminuídas – senão totalmente esquecidas – na história da filosofia e na atualidade. Pretende-se apreciar a importância de suas atuações em diversos ramos da área, como teoria do conhecimento, metafísica, filosofia política e teoria feminista. Busca-se, ainda, entender as dificuldades que marcam a trajetória acadêmica das mulheres: seus obstáculos institucionais, sociais e mesmo simbólicos.
