Firelord Azulon is dead. After 79 Years as Fire Lord, the longest reign in history Azulon died in his sleep, just shy of his one hundredth birthday. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Illah, and his younger son Ozai.
Azulon’s hier is his elder son Iroh. Although Iroh withdrew from public life following his failure at Ba Sing Se and the death of his own son, his succession is unquestioned. But with Lu Ten gone, Ozai’s line now stands to inherit. His widow Ursa, a political force. His daughter Azula a powerful bender and a budding plotter. And Zuko, now heir to the throne, is known more for his dashing good looks than his leadership. Most observers think the Dragon of the West will have to keep his family close as he embarks on an ambitious project of reform for the Fire Nation.

When Zuko first joins, He wouldn't sit with them to eat. And then when he was forced, he barely ate anything. But it's okay because he has rations left over. At least that's what Zuko said, He said he had plenty but who knows how long they'll last? He gives sokka and Katara Some rations for when they eat but it's probably because he has plenty left right? wrong.
Zuko is stupid and doesn't want to say no to the Gaang so he just ends up passing out from not eating

This leads to a small argument with Katara, where Zuko tries to protect Sokka and Katara from Hakoda (Hakoda wasn't going to hurt them, but how would Zuko know that having had Ozai as his father). Sokka listens to Zuko explain his childhood, having made several guesses about how bad it was after seeing how Zuko reacted to Hakoda. Hurt/Comfort.
