Tybee Island officers help save a man that was originally reported “dead”

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WTOC) - Three Tybee Island Police officers are being praised for rescuing a man that was originally thought to be dead.
Officers responded to the beach at 11th street Friday night around 9p.m. in reports of a dead body.
When they arrived- they found the man lying on his back in the surf.
Officers were pulling him from the water when they realized that he was alive.
All three worked together to assess his condition and keep him alert until medical help could arrive.
The man was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
