Glynn County man arrested for distribution and possession of child pornography

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - According to the Glynn County Police Department, Lawrence “Larry” Hobbs was charged with two felonies.

Hobbs was charged with Sexual Exploitation of Children, Possession and Sexual Exploitation of Children, Distribution.

Glynn County Police said the investigation into Hobbs began earlier this year when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force alerted the Glynn County Police Department about a photograph of a child in a lewd position uploaded to social media.

Police say they were able to find the address of where the photograph was uploaded, investigators then obtained warrants to search Hobb’s home.

In a social media post GCPD said, “on August 8, GCPD investigators interviewed Hobbs, during which he confessed to crimes related to possession and distribution of child pornography. "

In a social media post, Brunswick News identifies Hobbs as, "A former public safety reporter and current freelancer for The News.”
