When we think of famous inventors we usually think of men, people like Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas
Edison. But, when we talk about many of things that make our life easier today, we find that they were invented
by women. For example, the car was invented by a man, but a woman called Mary Anderson, who in 1903 solved
one of the biggest problems of driving, invented windshield )wipers 1( to help the drivers to see when it is raining
or snowing. In 1956, Bette Nesmith was working as a secretary. She used to make typing mistakes, then she had a
brilliant idea, which was to use a white liquid to paint over mistakes. Her invention is called white-out. In 1966,
Stephanie Kwolek invented Keverlar, a special material that was very light, but stronger than metal, this material
is used to make bullet-proof vests to )protect 2( police officers, soldiers, and politicians all over the world.) Her
