ACCADEMIC PROFILE
Responsibilities:
§ Supports the work of the Vice President regarding activities related to the
development of Regional structure and operations, consistent with the
IFSW Constitution and By Laws.
§ Communicates and works with the Vice President for the Region on a regular basis
§ Supports regional planning and activities related to promotion of the social work
profession.
§ In consultation with the Regional Vice President acts as the IFSW representative
in Regional political and professional events; and also networks with regional
institutions.
§ Works with the Regional Vice President to assess, or guide the assessment, of
applications for membership in IFSW, in accordance with the IFSW Constitution
and By Laws.
§ Chairs IFSW Committees as required by the Executive Committee
§ In accordance with the IFSW Action Plan and the IFSW Regional Plans prepares
report on committee activities for the IFSW Executive and General meetings
§ Carries out other tasks or projects which may be requested by the President from
time to time
EMPLOYMENT PROFILE
Responsibilities:
• Assessment and provision of direct social work and
counseling services to sexually abused children and their
families as a member of a multidisciplinary team in a clinic
setting.
• Recommending placement of children in need of care for
safety reasons.
• Network with doctors, mental health professionals ,
government department, non-governmental organizations and
relevant personnel to develop referral networks for clients e.g.
child welfare forum, Victim friendly Sub- committee.
• Raise awareness at policy making level on child sexual abuse
HIV/AIDS and child rights.
• Participating in training communities and professionals in
areas of child therapy, family therapy, multisectorial
collaboration, social and medical aspects of child sexual
abuse.
• Designing training programmes for CSA ( translated in
indigenous Shona and Ndebele pamphlet)
• Design and implement the use of the multisectoral training
handbook on child sexual abuse for professionals.
• Produce reports to the organization.
