I. OBJECTIVES
      At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
          A. Understand the rules and regulation of the game basketball.
          B. Demonstrate the common hand signal in basketball.
          C. Strengthen student’s appreciation for sports activity.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
      A. Topic: Sports
      B. Sub-topic: Types of Sports: Basketball
      C. References: Aparato et al., PE and Health (Volume I) First Edition, Rex Bookstore,
                              Sampaloc, Manila, 2017 p.98.
      D. Method and Strategies: Discussion, Demonstration, Performance-based Activity
      E. Materials: Speaker, Music, Laptop, Power point presentation, Whistle
      F. Values to be integrated: Initiative, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship
             -Appreciating the value of one's health through participation in different sports.
III. PROCEDURE/LEARNING ACTIVITIES
      A. Preparation (3-5 mins)
             1. Prayer
             The teacher will ask the president to lead the prayer.
             2. Greetings
             The teacher will greet the students.
             3. Classroom management
             The teacher will instruct the students to pick up the pieces of paper, candy
             wrapper, or any waste and arrange their chairs.
             4. Checking of Attendance
             The teacher will check if there are absentees.
             5. Dance Energizer
             The teacher will present a video as an energizer.
      B. Review (2 mins)
             As a recall from the last discussion, the teacher will ask the students if what they
      have learned about the previous topic.
         C. Pre-test (3-5 mins)
                Directions: Select from the choices the word that corresponds to the answer in
                each of the following test items. Write the letter before each number. Choose your
                answers in the box below.

         ____1. It is signaled by having one arm extended in front of the chest with the two
                fingers up, and other arm grabbing twist.

                him, with his palms facing outward.

         D. Motivation (5 mins)

               D4. The students will share to the class what they have observed.
         E. Discussion (10-15 mins)
                E1. The teacher will discuss the following information:
                       A. Rules and Regulation of Basketball
                       B. Common Hand Signal in Basketball
         F. Application (10-15 mins)
               E1. The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups.
               E2. The students will go to their respective groups..
               E3. The teacher will give the instruction in the group activity.
               E4. The students will be graded based from the given rubrics below.
                Rubrics:
                   Select one members in your group as your picker of the flash cards. The
                     rest will fall in line from the shortest to tallest.
                   The picker will blow the whistle and show the first card to the first player
                     in line, the player will demonstrate the given chargers or call. If the player
                     perform the given charge correctly the next player will do the same.
                   Each group have 2 minutes to perform.
                   The group got a high score wins the game and would receive 20 points.
                   The losing groups will be given points depending on their score.
         G. Generalization (5-10 mins)
               The students will execute the different hand signal in basketball and it will be
          accompanied with the music, “Hindi Ko Kayang Tanggapin” by April Boy Regino.
