Today, the number of social networks in which communications are made is increasing rapidly, and most teenagers and adults, as part of everyday life, use the benefits of knowing others and introducing themselves to others from social networks such as Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, YouTube, Weblogs and Wikiquote. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of advertising on social networks on the marketing of sports services. Methodologically, this descriptive study was of correlational type and its statistical community was formed by active users in social sports networks. The statistical sample was available (from users who were active social sports networks). In this research, social networking was measured using the scale of Soleimani-Bashli and Talibi (2010) and marketing mix of sport services using Yaghoobi et al. (2011) scale. To test the research hypotheses, structural equation modeling was used. The results of the research showed that advertising in social networks has a positive and significant effect on marketing of sports services. As a result, the greater the amount of advertising on social networks, the more likely it is that customer satisfaction, attracting new customers, and increasing investment in sports services will increase. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to the aspect of advertising in these networks and to be taken into consideration in strategic strategies of sports providers.

Social services are the 4th pillar in the wellfare State. It is basic its consolidation for citizens in an each time more vulnerable society because the postmoderne societies are experimenting huge changes. In Spain it is a very young system, which has been extraordinary developed  in the last 30 years. Nevertheless, it has many weaknesses. in this paper we analyze its development and social sustainability in Spain taking the case of Valencia as a case study.

Nel porre in luce alcune delle sfide contemporanee più pressanti che emergono a seguito della “quarta rivoluzione”, questo saggio si propone di indagare una questione che interpella, in modo urgente, la riflessione pratica sui nuovi media: se – e, nel caso, come e con quali conseguenze prospettabili – le ICT e i SNS incidano nel processo di formazione dell’identità individuale.
Sebbene la risposta a un primo quesito possa sembrare ovvia, la via euristica qui proposta tenta, nella prima sezione, di chiarire la rinnovata condizione – nell’“infosfera” – del riconoscimento intersoggettivo e, rispetto a esso, di porre in evidenza la funzione dei SNS quali opzioni qualitative di narrazione individuale. È all’analisi di una di queste opzioni digitali (Instagram) e, in modo particolare, di una delle sue categorie più influenti, quella del Bello, che sarà dedicato il secondo paragrafo. Un’operazione con il fine specifico di esemplificare il modus operandi dei “nuovi” media sulla narrazione virtuale del sé online (nel medium prescelto: sulla narrazione estetica del sé) e, nella sezione conclusiva, di delinearne alcune delle conseguenze, reali o potenziali, per lo sviluppo di un’identità, non più (solo) off-line e non (almeno ancora) esclusivamente online: un’identità onlife.

A cross-cultural explanatory sequential mixed method design was utilized to investigate the implementability of social networking services for educational purposes. It was aimed to shed light on the nature of relationship between the use of social networking services and pre-service teachers’ personality, motivation to use
Facebook, motives to use Facebook, and attitude towards using Facebook. In addition to that, it was aimed to understand the perceived usefulness and feasibility of Social networking services as educational tools and the feelings of the future teachers about
the “appropriateness” of Facebook as an educational implementation. In the quantitative phase of the research, which was carried out in both Turkey and then the United States of America, a correlational study was utilized. For scaling motives,
motivation, personality, Facebook use, and attitude towards using Facebook, five questionnaires which were developed and used in English were translated into Turkish. Multiple linear, ordinal logistic, and binomial logistic regression analyses were conducted for quantitative data analysis. In the qualitative phase, Turkish pre-service teachers were interviewed and a constant comparative analysis was conducted on the transcripts. It was found that personality is not a major predictor of Facebook
use. Pre-service teachers have a positive perception of the use of Facebook for educational purposes in both countries. However, there have been many differences between the two countries’ pre-service teachers in terms of Facebook use and motives. It was demonstrated that pre-service teachers associate Facebook mostly with relationship, communication, and learning and they see Facebook as educationally implementable.

Social networking is a social structure that allow user to interact and work collaboratively with other users. Today social networking websites are most popular as well as widely used among people of all age group to share interests, information, activities, ideas, thoughts, experiences, or real-life connections. Online social networking platforms have given a new direction in promoting library products and services. However, most of the organizations, including libraries have realized the need of social media networking in their organizations so that social media networking can be used inside the organizations. Now it is time for LIS professionals to embrace a new embedded technology into their day-to-day activities. The aim of the paper is to assess the role of librarians and information science professionals relating to the use of social networking sites in the libraries. This paper deals with concept of social networking and its application to Academic library services for a pro-active awareness and training to educate the LIS professional and the Teaching Faculty, Students and Research Scholars on the invaluable importance of utilizing social networking in academic library services in digital environment.

Analisando as mudanças nas lógicas econômica, de regime de poder e comunicacional, não é difícil constatar que, na passagem da sociedade moderna para a sociedade contemporânea, as massas dão lugar às redes como modelo prevalente de organização social. De acordo com Freud, os sujeitos que compõem a massa identificam-se entre si em torno da adesão a um líder, e essa identificação canaliza a libido, que dá coesão à massa. O que ocorre nas redes é a tendência à multiplicação de lideranças e de identificações e, portanto, à dispersão dos laços libidinais. No caso dos processos de mobilização política, eles são enormemente facilitados pela articulação em rede, apoiada nas novas tecnologias. Em contrapartida, o caráter fragmentado desses movimentos restringe a eficácia de sua intervenção nos quadros da política institucional. Experiências partidárias recentes, influenciadas pelas reflexões de Laclau e Mouffe, buscam superar as limitações da organização em rede por intermédio de formas flexíveis de unificação, embora estas tampouco estejam imunes a problemas.

The autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is increasingly being recognized as a major public health issue which affects approximately 0.5-0.6% of the population. Promoting the general awareness of the disorder, increasing the engagement with the affected individuals and their carers, and understanding the success of penetration of the current clinical recommendations in the target communities, is crucial in driving research as well as policy. The aim of the present work is to investigate if Twitter, as a highly popular platform for information exchange, can be used as a data-mining source which could aid in the aforementioned challenges. Specifically, using a large data set of harvested tweets, we present a series of experiments which examine a range of linguistic and semantic aspects of messages posted by individuals interested in ASD. Our findings, the first of their nature in the published scientific literature, strongly motivate additional research on this topic and present a methodological basis for further work.

This paper considers audio-visual representations of Japan's March 11, 2011 earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disasters in exploring the degree to which citizen reportage leveraged by mobile technology and social media give voice to those affected, and how these new forms of fragmented documentary call into question the medium of nonfiction cinema in its traditional filmic appearances. Finding recurrent emphasis on salvaged family photographs and depictions of amateur photography in 3.11 documentary cinema of potential significance, we trace these elements through the work of Toshi Fujiwara, Yuki Kokubo, Yojyu Matsubayashi, Koichi Omiya, and Lucy Walker. Surveying their short and feature length pieces covering the quake and its aftermath, such observation leads to case studies in stock footage manipulation, politics of the filmed photo, outsider interview ethics, and the position of landscape allegory and its past uses in theoretical critiques of the state-corporate complex. Focused on Japan’s visual culture in particular, but of relevance to a global community with increasing involvement in the production of the media they consume, yet little say in its rhetorical representation, the paper aims to test a notion that building a personal cinema can aid a culture’s reconstruction process following cataclysmic events.

Social media enhanced learning systems bring new challenges to evaluate learning environments. Many features are common with any web-based services and can be evaluated with common criteria. But with social media services users can also contribute content, change opinions and create communities for different needs, which bring new dimensions to a quality evaluation. This research focused on finding out which are the most important characters and functions in social media enhanced learning system in the context of higher education. The paper also reports the former research results that were used as a background for this study. Earlier researches were carried out in 2008-2009 and they focused on how to evaluate social media services, what are the students’ expectations and what motivates them to use social media services in higher educational context.

This study investigated student’s use of different social media tools, their perceptions and attitudes towards these tools, their preference of social media for instructional purpose, and acceptance of social media among, pre-service teachers in Nigeria and Rwanda. This study adopted a comparative survey design, and Nigeria and Rwanda were chosen as sample region through purposive sampling. The population of the study included 487 higher education students of the faculty of education; 246 of them were Nigerians and 241 were Rwandese. They comprised of 212 male and 267 females. The findings of the study revealed that pre-service teachers in both countries have adequate knowledge of different type of social media sites. The findings show that the level of preference of social media site is very high in both countries among the pre-service teachers. Pre-service teachers in both countries are willing to use social media technology to support learning. Pre-service teachers in both countries have a positive attitude towards the use of social media for instruction purposes p<0.05). Also, Facebook was discovered to be the most popular social networking site among them followed by Twitter and Google+. Rwandese pre-service teachers used Skype more than their counterparts in Nigeria. Based on these findings recommendations were made that establishment of educational technology units in the faculties of education in Rwanda, also curricular underlying teacher educational programs should ensure that these knowledge and beliefs are emphasized when designing educational technology courses as well as modifying the content the courses so that student teachers have greater engagement in technology. Nigeria still has a lot to explore in the use of social media for instruction purpose therefore further in-depth studies should be carried out.
