In this paper, we propose several methods to generate a fifteen-second thumbnail video clip from an original video clip based on analysis of viewer’s responses and analysis of audio features. We clear the advantage and characteristics of the combination method with analysis of viewer’s responses and analysis of audio features based on the evaluation test.

The feature of our system is to build and maintain personal network and information network simultaneously. Given an initial personal network, the system improves the network to connect people related in their interest. Then people receive recommendation of information through these links. Accepting such recommendation, causes change of their interest so that the personal network can be changed again. By replying this process, both personal and information networks are gradually constructed. We build this system as peer-to-peer architecture. There are no servers to control or collect information so that people can join this system easily.

TelMeA employs avatar-like agents, or scriptable anthropomorphic animated agents, as the conversation interface. By means of avatar-like agents, participants of a TelMeA community can easily identify other participants. The community becomes more like our real community in awareness of participants and of community itself. Moreover, participant can edit multimodal expressions introducing spatial contexts such as interpersonal space and suggestions of web contents. As a result of the test use, users perceived avatar-like agents and TelMeA to be natural and useful for asynchronous communities. Especially, functions for expression introducing spatial contexts are highly evaluated.
