Finding the connection between art and teaching can be a difficult task for preservice teachers who do not have a background in the arts. This qualitative case study explores the journey of a group of pre-service elementary teachers in an art methods course considering what it means to teach and to be an artist. The way in which these students defined the arts and teaching changed over the course of the semester and found connective threads, productively tying together the work of teaching and the creative process. Findings from pre-service teacher course work indicated three important themes: connections between art and teaching, finding connections to self, and becoming a teacher. Data revealed implications for pre-service teachers making productive connections, beginning to see themselves as capable, creative teachers, able to encourage the creativity of their future students. Background: Rates of posttraumatic stress disorder and exposure to violence among incarcerated males and females in the US are exponentially higher than rates among the general population; yet, abrupt detoxification from substances, the pervasive authoritative presence and sensory and environmental trauma triggers can pose a threat to individual and institutional stability during incarceration. Objective: The authors explore the unique challenges and promises of trauma-informed correctional care and suggest strategies for administrative support, staff development, programming, and relevant clinical approaches. Method: A review of literature includes a comparison of gendered responses, implications for men’s facilities, and the compatibility of trauma recovery goals and forensic programming goals. A smartphone and a strong Internet connection are what every tech-savvy customer's need to meet the full spectrum of his / her everyday needs. The on-demand taxi service is a phenomenon that has changed the habit of a huge proportion of people in the country who ride on a daily basis. The hour-long waiting and paying out inflated rates for community transportation is now over thanks to on-demand taxi services. The taxi business sector is evolving at a rapid pace with new technology, on-demand services, attracting consumers, new marketing strategies, and dedicated service providers are all helping to reinforce integrated industries and create strong brands that can spread beyond national borders. It is important for cab service companies to understand the factors that influence the choice of cab service providers. This paper is an attempt to measure service quality proposed by (Parasuraman, A., Zeithaml, V., Berry, 1988) and its impact on satisfaction for on-demand ride services. The data was collected from around 1494 respondents using any on-demand ride mobile application for at least six months. The initial questionnaire was pre-tested with around 50 on-demand ride mobile application users. The changes were incorporated in the finalised questionnaire before starting the data collection. It was found that for delivering satisfaction to the on-demand ride users all the dimensions are service quality namely reliability, assurance, empathy and responsiveness are significant, though for measuring service quality all the five measures are essential.

Talking politics online is not exclusively reserved for those spaces dedicated to politics, particularly the everyday political talk crucial to the public sphere. However, past net-based public sphere research has focused mostly on political spaces thereby neglecting an array of other genres. The aim of this article is to move beyond politically oriented communicative spaces by investigating political talk within the British reality TV discussion forum Wife Swap. The purpose is to see whether a forum dedicated to reality TV provides the communicative space, content, and style for politics that extends the public sphere. The central question is whether it fulfils the requirements of rationality and ‘decent’ deliberation. Moreover, the analysis moved beyond a formal notion by investigating how expressives influence the more traditional elements of deliberation. The findings revealed that Wife Swap participants engaged in political talk that was often deliberative. Moreover, it was a space where the use of expressives played a key role in enhancing such talk.

This article argues that clicktivism is a legitimate political act. It emphasizes that such acts, through a recurrent negative discourse, have been marginalized. As a result, new modes of participation that draw upon the simplification of social connectivity have largely been ignored in the mainstream Political Science literature. In addressing this issue, the article develops a heuristic that identifies seven dimensions (or characteristics) of clicktivism. This new heuristic will allow for the analysis of clicktivism as a form of civic engagement separate from digital activism more broadly. Subsequently, the article applies the heuristic to several popular forms of clicktivism, including social buttons and the creation of memes, demonstrating both its utility and flexibility.

This file contains a table that compares five course rubrics that are available to help guide course design. The goal was to identify what the common categories were across these rubrics as well as to document some of the details contained in these rubrics for these common categories. We can see that each rubric can have a somewhat different area(s) of foci so considering these collectively is very informative.

This extensive 20,000 word research report explores the attitudes of Internet users in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to issues of cybersafety, online security and data privacy.

The research covers five areas:

1. Access to technology: At a household level across the Middle East and North Africa.

2. Attitudes: Exploring the views of Internet users in MENA towards the web.

3. Level of Concern: Examining issues such as the re- purposing of personal online data and concerns about personal accounts being hacked.

4. Trust: Determining trust in different Internet actors - from Governments to Banks and ISPs - and whether users feel that their data is safe online.

5. Behaviors: Seeing if these attitudes and concerns are reflected in the online activities undertaken by MENA’s Internet population.

Alternatives to merely uploading PowerPoint, lecture notes, and podcasts to a Learning Management System.

These are some ideas that have worked for me taken from my online and traditional classes.

In teaching online, the goal is not to make the learning identical to the learning in a face-to-face class, but to make the learning equivalent.

I developed this as part of a course I designed to prepare faculty at Joliet Junior College to teach online.

The project "CANTEEN AUTOMATION SYSTEM USING ANDROID" enables to register online, read and select the food from E-menu card and the user wants to use android application. The result after choosing the food from the E-menu card will directly seem on the screen near the chef. The gadget is the mixture of android as nicely as internet application. The barcode system is used for reading the products. By the usage of this application the work of the waiter is decreased and we can also say that the paintings is nullified. The benefits of this is that if there is a rush in the canteen then there will be change that the waiter will be unavailable and the user can at once order the food to the chef on-line by the use of this application. The user will have username and password, by using which they can login into the system. This means that the purchaser is the regular consumer of the canteen. Bu araştırma çevrimiçi sosyalleşmenin sosyal bağlılık, kaygı, depresyon ve mutluluk üzerine etkisini araştırmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında öncelikle sosyal bağlılık ve Facebook kullanım oranları ayrı ayrı ölçülmüştür. Daha sonra 120 Facebook kullanıcısı üzerinde çevrimdışı sosyal bağlılık ve çevrimiçi sosyal bağlılık oranları karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar çevrim içi bağlılığının çevrim dışı sosyal bağlılıktan farklı olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Ayrıca araştırma sonucu Facebook kullanımının sosyal çevre ile ilişkiler kurmak ve geliştirmek için fırsatlar verdiğini göstermektedir. Çünkü araştırma bulgularına göre Facebook kullanımı sosyal ortamlarda ilişkiler kurmak ve geliştirmek için olumlu psikolojik girişkenliklere cesaret vermektedir. Üstelik Facebook kullanımının depresyon ve kaygıyı azalttığı, mutluluğu ise arttırdığı bulgularına ulaşılmıştır.

Η παρουσίαση αυτή στοχεύει στην παροχή μιας στρατηγικής ανάλυσης της διαχείρισης της Alfa Pastry SA, ένας από τους πιο σημαντικούς παράγοντες, που δραστηριοποιούνται στην ελληνική αγορά κατεψυγμένων βιομηχανίας επεξεργασμένων τροφίμων. Όπως συμβαίνει με τις περισσότερες ελληνικές επιχειρήσεις, Alfa λειτουργεί σε ένα ταραχώδες οικονομικό και πολιτικό περιβάλλον. Την ίδια στιγμή, οι Έλληνες καταναλωτές δίνουν έμφαση στις χαμηλές τιμές και υψηλή ποιότητα των προϊόντων διατροφής. Purpose. Accommodation sharing is a major trend shaping the hospitality industry, and Airbnb is the most prominent sharing platform driving this growth. While price convenience is reported as one of the main strengths of Airbnb accommodations, only a few studies have examined price determinants. In particular, it is unclear whether hosts dynamically adjust prices for shared accommodation based on their experience with price management and on the level of market demand. This paper intends to fill this gap by suggesting and testing a comprehensive hedonic pricing model.
Methodology. Data from all 1,056 Airbnb listings for accommodations available in the city of Verona (Italy) on four booking dates in 2016 are collected and analysed through regression analysis.
Findings. The results highlight that price is significantly related to the level of the host’s accumulated experience and to the level of market demand on a specific booking date. The findings provide support for the ability of hosts to dynamically adjust prices for their accommodations.
Practical implications. Drawing on the innovator’s dilemma theory, this study suggests some strategies that traditional hotels may adopt to react to the disruptive nature of Airbnb.
Originality/value. This is one of the few studies to address hosts’ pricing strategies and to specifically consider price adjustments owing to variations in host experience and market demand.

Nello scenario predigitale, quando i media classici erano l’unico orizzonte di ogni comunicazione di massa, la contrapposizione era ritenuta una delle vie maestre per ottenere spazio mediatico. Occorre oggi domandarsi se questa modalità sia veramente l’unica percorribile e se apporti ancora un contributo per la vita reale dei partecipanti alla conversazione, o piuttosto aggravi alcuni fenomeni come il disagio per l’overload di informazioni, la sensazione di inattendibilità diffusa e l’autoreferenzialità dei gruppi di opinioni omogenee impermeabili al confronto.

This research aims to understand how gamers redefine their identity by extending, aggregating, and assembling the different dimensions of the self in experiential online communities. The authors conducted a series of filmed in-depth and in game individual interviews, group interviews, informal conversations, and observation of online game sessions. A framework of online identity construction shows how gamers assemble their identities combining different self-dimensions, using two different strategies: self-extension and self-aggregation. Self-extension strategies consist in the idealization, development, and manipulation of avatars (their digital self). Self-aggregation strategies refer to group participation and sharing virtual possessions within groups of players. To bring their identities from the experiential community to the real life, gamers combine these strategies by assembling and materializing identities. This framework has theoretical implications for the self, identity, and sharing in online contexts. Finally, the paper considers managerial implications and future research directions in online communities.

As an economic pillar, the high quality banking service in Lebanon is the highest single contributor to the GDP. This Lebanese service-based sector was neither investigated for the quality of banking services from the customers' perspective, nor for analyzing the key strategic advantage of customer satisfaction in this highly competitive sector. Based on Cronin & Taylor's (1992) SERVPERF, this study analyses the customer perceived service quality's effect on the bank customers' satisfaction, and suggests a novel model to measure perceived service quality that is culture and industry-specific, and includes online banking. The tool is tested with 1049 respondents providing thorough statistical evidence that culminate into putting forth a developed model of the original SERVPERF labelled the Lebanese Bank Quality Tool (LEBANKQUAL).
