Metal cutting is one of the most important production processes in the field of material removal. Black defines metal cutting as the removal of metal shavings on one side to obtain a finished product with the desired attributes of size, shape and surface roughness. In this thesis, experiments are conducted to improve the surface finish quality of a piece of Inconel 625 in nickel alloy using carbide tips. The boy has the tip of a bull. A series of experiments is carried out by varying the milling parameters of the spindle speed, the feed speed and the cutting depth using the orthogonal matrix L 9 in the Taguchi technique. The spindle speeds are 1800 rpm, 2000 rpm and 2500 rpm. The feed speeds are 200 mm / min, 300 mm / min and 400 mm / min. The cutting depth is 0.2mm, 0.3mm and 0.6mm. The process parameters are optimized for a better surface finish using the Taguchi technique in the Minitab software.

Minitab bir İstatistik yazılımıdır (Statistical Software). İçinde yaşadığımız hayat ve sürdürdüğümüz işler rastlantısaldır ve değişkendir. Tüm değişkenleri sabit tutamadığımız sürece (ki bu laboratuvar ortamı dışında pek mümkün görünmemektedir) istatistiksel araçlardan yaralanak bilgi üretmeye ve bu bilgilerden faydalanmaya çalışırız. MINITAB, kullanıcılarına 40 yılı aşkın süredir istatistiksel araçlar ile veriyi bilgiye dönüştiren yazılımlar sunmaktadır. Minitab, 1972 yılında istatistik eğitimi veren profesörlere yardımcı olmak amacıyla tasarlandı. Zaman içerisinde işletme verilerinin analizinde dolayısıyle işletmelerin sunduğu ürün ve hizmetlerin kalitesinin iyileştirmesinde kullanılan en önemli yazılım haline geldi. İşletmelerin kendilerini geliştirmeleri ancak ve ancak gerekli olan verilerin doğru toplanması ve verilerinin doğru analizi ile mümkün olmaktadır. MINITAB dünyada yalın 6 sigma uygulamalarında kullanılan en önemli yazılım olmasının yanı sıra istatistik eğitimi veren 4000 den fazla kolej ve üniversitede de kullanılmaktadır.

This paper investigates the machining parameters affecting the roughness of surfaces produced in hard turning process for three different materials like EN8 steel, Aluminium alloy and Copper alloy under dry conditions. Three parameters were selected for study: cutting speed, feed and material hardness. For the three materials like Aluminium alloy, copper alloy and EN8 steel impact of increase in feeds versus decrease in cutting speeds with constant depth of cut adopted to analyze the influence of these parameters on the generated surface roughness. Regression analysis using MINITAB software for all the three material turning operation data mining was used to create model for the prediction of the average surface roughness (Ra) in terms of cutting speed, feed and material hardness and 67.2 % of R 2 and 47.52% of R 2 (adj) were obtained.

Program Minitab merupakan salah satu software yang sangat besar kontribusinya sebagai media pengolahan data statistik. Software ini menyediakan berbagai jenis perintah yang memungkinkan proses pemasukan data, manipulasi data, pembuatan grafik dan berbagai analisis statistik

Path analysis has applications in various fields of science,
including social science, economics, agriculture, and biology. While programs for path analysis written in other computer languages are available, no program for Minitab exists even though Minitab plays an important role in numerous branches of science for statistical analyses. The aim of this paper is to present a powerful Minitab program, MULTPATH, for path analysis. This program responds well to Minitab versions V10.5 and higher. To demonstrate its operation, an artificial data set is used. The macro yields results similar to those obtained using other statistical software, such as SAS. The macro should be useful to researchers from most fields of study, including biologists and agriculturists. A program copy is available free of charge from the corresponding author.

Nefes algılayıcı cihazı (nefes sensörü) birbirine kenetlenmiş elektrot platform sensörü (Inter-Digitated-Electrode(IDE)) , insan nefes nem tespit etmek için tasarlanmıştır. Nem varlığını tespit etmek için kullanılan malzeme Karbon Nanotüp’tür (Carbon-Nanotube(CNT)). Sensör cihazının işlenebilme performansının belirlenmesinde 4 ana faktör vardır. Bunlar; karbon nanotüp yapısı(CNT Synthesis), sıcaklık, bağıl nem ve birbirine kenetlenmiş elektrot platform tasarımı (IDE Design) ‘dır. Deney tasarımı, deneysel bir şekilde araştırma yapmak amacıyla her bir faktörün çalışma performansı araştırılmak amacıyla yapıldı, bu ilişki içinde nefes sensör cihazı için tepki faktörü olan direnç (Capacitance(pF))’i bulmak amaçlanmıştır.  Nefes sensör cihazın işlenebilirlik performans ve işlevselliği sonunda hangi faktör veya değişkenlerin performansına önemli etkisi olduğu belirlenir. Bu deney tasarımını gerçekleştirmede kullanılan yararlı bilgi işlem optimizasyonu nefes sensörü genel performansını daha da geliştirmiş olabilir.

ABSTRACT:
The breath sensor device is fabricated using a capacitive Inter-Digitated Electrode (IDE) platform sensor that is designed to detect moisture in human breath. The sensing material that is used to detect the presence of the moisture is Carbon-Nanotube (CNT). There are four main factors that were understudied in determining the workability performance of the sensor device such as the CNT structure, temperature, relative humidity and IDE platform design. Using Design of Experiment (DOE) approach an experimental study was conducted to investigate the effect of each factor to the performance that is aimed fort he breath sensor device in relation to its responce factor; capacitance (pF). It is essential to identify which factors or variables that gibe the significant effect to workability performance of the breath sensor device and its functionality performance eventually. This useful insight is needed before optimization of the process can be done to further enhanced the breath sensor overall performance.

The importance of the Brazilian textile chain demands continuous analyses and studies in search of the opportunities for continuous process improvements, providing more benefits for the society. In this work an overall description of the current situation in the textile industry is done focusing on synthetic materials of polyester, more specifically, textured yarns. The work presents and discusses some aspects of the product development in textile industry. During the work was verified that some phases of the processes require better utilization of the scientific knowledge, thus minimizing the frequency of empirical knowledge. A study was conducted based on a historical database and a proposal was made for the modeling and optimization of the texturing process, the methodology though can be applied in any industry or any other field of the textile industry. Three techniques (multiple linear regression, principal component regression, partial least squares or projected latent structure) were studied and applied to the data where better results were obtained with Partial Least Squares. For the parametric optimization task was chosen the Genetic Algorithm due to the degree of nonlinearity of the objective function. The modeling results were considered extremely adequate for predicting the desired variables and the optimization gives excelent results based on imposed constraints. Therefore, it was confirmed the opportunity that exists for the implementation of the PLS-GA based approach to manufacturing processes of textile enterprises and many others industries.

Statistics is used in many settings: Six Sigma can be useful if properly applied; therefore scientists have to take into account the “correct” ideas. The document shows the ideas of the author to overcome the deep ignorance on Quality as it is found in many books dealing with Statistical Quality Control and Six Sigma. Master Black Belt (“Certified” MBB in Six Sigma) use a hyped software MINITAB: unfortunately Minitab provides some WRONG methods: in the iSixSigma website one can meet many incompetent professional unable to understand what is wrong with Minitab; we will see it. There are many types of falseness provided by the “6 SigMONA practitioners”: they rob money from their clients that are not aware of that. When the 6 BMWists say “A company’s performance is measured by the sigma level of their business processes” they lie: they do not know that, IF they compute s from the company’s data, they know the estimate s (NOT ) AND s is never equal to ! The 1st falseness is the statement “variation is the enemy of Quality”. The 2nd falseness is the statement “variability reduction is Quality”. The 3rd falseness is the wide-spread use of the “Normal Distribution”. The 4th falseness is the statement “the number of defectives is 3.4 ppm”. The “6 SigMONA movement” does not deal properly with problem prevention, as on the contrary is done by GIQA. Scientificness is absent in the “6 SigMONA applications” as shown in the authors books.

In Saudi Arabia, as population growth increases, the need for safe drinking water is more and more increasing for
both human use and industrial applications. These requires highly efficient processing plants that meet the growing needs of
customers and their expectations of providing more service to all segments of the society at the lowest possible cost. On the other
hand, these stations consume high amounts of energy in addition to the high maintenance and operating costs due to emergency
breakdowns, which in turn result in lower production and the exit of some units from operation. This research aims to enhance
the operational procedures of the stations and to study the possibility of reducing the high consumption of electric power and
work to increase the performance of the plants by reducing the costs of maintenance and operation through the application of
Quality Tools (QTs). This work focused on: (1) collecting data, equipment inventory, maintenance and operation costs and
energy consumption rate of the equipment; (2) analyzing these data using the Seven QTs and the New QTs for Management and
Planning; (3) finding solutions and presenting the results using the Minitab software; and, (4) the obtained results will be then
generalized to the other stations in other Saudi Arabia regions.

The development and optimization of an empirical model of a reactive distillation process producing palmitic acid methyl ester (PAME), with the aid of Minitab, have been carried out in this work. In order to achieve these, Box-Behnken technique of response surface methodology was used to design experiments that were carried out in a prototype plant of the process developed with the aid of Aspen HYSYS using Distillation Column SubFlowsheet as the column type and Wilson model as the fluid package. The results obtained from the analysis of the developed full quadratic model revealed that reboiler duty was not having any significant effect on the process as its probability value (P-value) was obtained to be greater than 0.05 that was chosen, based on the confidence level of 95%.This was found to justify the fact that no reaction was occurring in the reboiler section of the column. Coronavirus has shocked the world and almost bought the education sector to a stop. The Nigerian government declared a compulsory lockdown on all states of the federal. The Lagos State Government's passion for education consulted Envivo Education, a private company, to develop an I class Learning Management System (ILMS) for virtual teaching. This platform was effective in teaching courses, but the peculiarity of engineering is the basic to understand engineering mathematics the bedrock of all concepts. A Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaires (MLSQ) survey was administered to all students who took the engineering mathematics courses. The data was collected, and the statistical analysis was done with Minitab. It found out that the ILMS is good for teaching courses, but to understand engineering courses screenwriting and feedback from students should be included.

Energy demand keeps on increasing every year because of the gap between demand and production. Currently biodiesel is introduced to reduce this gap and though the production of biodiesel is limited for commercialized. At present many research work are being carried out for investigating emission of biodiesel in internal combustion engine experimentally. The experimental test run requires more time, money and man power. In this work mathematical model for investigating on emission of biodiesel in internal combustion engine is proposed. It is also compared with the experimental data and the minitab software data. On comparing it is found that this proposed mathematical model gives better result than the software generated mathematical model with accuracy of 85%

False-twist texturing plants used these data to set up a process and improve their operations. This article shows that data mining, partial least squares modelling and genetic algorithm optimisation can provide further use for these data to benefit the company in many areas, such as setting up adequate process parameters without requiring an expert to do so, providing the customer with the requirements that will fulfill his needs, simplifying machine changes, and reducing lot changes. The results show that the model and optimisation structure put together can find multiple solutions for machine parameters by providing the multiple product properties or quality levels desired. The prediction of yarn properties, such as linear density (Dtex), elongation, tenacity and boiled water shrinkage were made with R2 between 0.80 and 0.99.

Objective: To investigate whether relationships exist among vitamin D, T2DM and blood pressure in Trinidadian type 2 diabetic subjects.

Research Design and Methods: This was a case-controlled study to determine if vitamin D levels were lower in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). After data analysis, an exploratory hypothesis of vitamin D relationship to systolic blood pressure (SBP) was developed. Plasma calcifediol [25(OH)D] concentrations were used as a measurement for vitamin D levels and were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cholesterol (Chol) levels were measured by an automated dry chemistry analyser and blood pressure was measured using an automatic blood pressure monitor.

Results: There was no significant difference (p = 0.139, n = 76) in 25(OH)D levels between T2DM patients and controls. Subjects with a SBP above 130 mmHg were 8 times more likely to have a 25(OH)D plasma concentration above 25 ng/mL [OR 7.9 (2.2 – 28.7)], and were 5 times [OR 4.7 (1.7 – 15.1)] more likely to have a 25(OH)D plasma concentration above 30 ng/mL [OR 7.5 (2.3 – 24.2)]. Vitamin D levels moderately and positively correlated with SBP (rs = 0.38, p = 0.001).

Conclusions: There was no significant difference in the 25(OH)D levels between T2DM patients and controls (p = 0.139). Patients with a SBP above 130 mmHg were 8 times more likely to have a Vitamin D level above 25 ng/mL [OR 7.9 (2.2 – 28.7)]. Further investigations are required to examine the relationship between Vitamin D and systolic blood pressure.

Optimization is very important in all the fields of the economy . It is also very critical in manufacturing for using the resources effectively . There are many factors that must be taken into consideration by the producer , and the only way of giving the correct decision is taken by using optimization techniques . Sometimes it seems very easy to take a decision but if you have to take the right decision for complex systems, it is not as easy as it seems . That is why the industrial engineers who are in need of taking the right decisions widely use optimization techniques. The energy problem is challenging and one of the most important political and economical issues in the world. Governments and the electrical energy producers always face the problem of generating the electrical energy more reliably and cheaply . Furthermore they try to make investment plans for the future electricity generation . For making an energy investment plan it is necessary to think from different perspectives. The resources which are domestic must be utilized first. The relations among the countries are also important for resources that we use. That is why it’s also a political issue. This study focuses on finding the optimal solution by minimizing the cost of generating electrical energy from several energy resources in Turkey. After an explicit survey on the past year’s data we forecasted the demand for the forthcoming years by using forecasting methods. With reference to these forecasted values an LP model is developed. The Lingo software is used to solve the model, and also the Minitab software is used for demand forecasting.

Tool vibration is a frequent and major problem in the manufacturing industry where metal cutting operations take place. It mainly affects the surface finish of the work piece, tool life and produce irritating noise. In order to restrain tool vibration, it is necessary to develop and analyze suitable methods which increases stability and improves the cutting performance. The project aims at analyzing a MR Damper suitable for the operation. MR fluid is composed of oil and varying percentages of iron particles that have been coated with an anti-coagulant material. This new class of device known as Magneto Rheologycal (MR) dampers will match well with the requirements and constraints of applications, including the necessity of having very low power requirements. A simple MR damper model is created for the work. The influence of MR damper was checked by measuring various parameters such as tool vibration, cutting force, surface roughness and tool wear. Taguchi design of experiments was used for conducting the cutting experiment.

Nowadays, with the rapid growth in electronic devices, compact and efficient heat sinks are required in day-today life. That's why it's need to be use optimized heat sinks. The excess heat generated causes damage in different parts also generates major problems in the system. So, in this work three-dimensional square channel of copper material is used to study heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. The comparative numerical analysis of thermal management system different parameter like coolant fluid, inlet velocity of fluid, shape of obstacles, aspect ratio of obstacles and number of obstacles is presented in this paper. Analysis and optimization of the heat sink are done by three different methods i.e., experimental, analytical, and simulation. In this work analytical and simulation method is used for the optimization of a heat sink. There are many software's are available for analysis and optimization, by using the "COMSOL Multi-physics software" we optimize multi objectives heat sink. After analytical and numerical analysis, to optimize best result Taguchi method is preferred, for that MINITAB software is used.
