Intercultural Dialogues

En la actualidad, se observa un creciente fenómeno de desvinculación con los saberes ancestrales que caracterizan a las regiones colombianas, particularmente a la región Andina. Esto ha llevado a la pérdida de algunas tradiciones y costumbres, que no son transmitidas y, por ende, no son preservadas. Por esta razón, es imprescindible implementar acciones en el ámbito educativo que promuevan el reconocimiento cultural de esta región. De esta manera, se busca fomentar una conexión más profunda con las raíces culturales, asegurando así su continuidad y valoración en las nuevas generaciones. El objetivo de la investigación, de la cual se arroja este artículo, es generar un diálogo intercultural que permita el desarrollo de una identificación y reconocimiento cultural, por medio de la danza, la música y la literatura de la región Andina en los departamentos de Cundinamarca y Nariño, en las instituciones educativas Juan Luis Londoño de la Cuesta y la Institución Educativa Municipal el Encano. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizaron tres técnicas: encuesta, observación directa y entrevista. Se aplicó una encuesta con un cuestionario de diecinueve preguntas cerradas para identificar los conocimientos que tenían el estudiantado sobre la cultura del departamento en el que no habitan. Además, se realizó observación directa y entrevistas para complementar la información obtenida a través de la encuesta. Por lo tanto, se generaron espacios con los diferentes educandos de dos instituciones educativas, donde se dio un diálogo intercultural que permitió la identificación y el reconocimiento de la cultura propia de la región Andina. El estudio de esta investigación arrojó resultados significativos. El estudiantado logro una comprensión profunda de las disciplinas, mostrándose más participativos y superando la timidez. Como recomendación, se sugiere continuar con la enseñanza integrada de estas disciplinas, fomentando la colaboración entre instituciones educativas y aprovechando la tecnología como medio para enriquecer la experiencia.

SUBJECT AND OBJECTIVES: Finding the main causes of hostility origin amongst people, peace authorities attempted to present their peacemaking models to enhance peace in a context of individuals, groups and societies hostilities. Faith-based peacemaking that is derived from the main sources of religious thought, including the Quran and Sunna, is the model by which peacemakers tried to solve the problems of religious people in Modern age.
METHOD AND FINDING: The present paper after analyzing the main religious sources finds the outstanding character of Islamic peacemaking is the holy Prophet Muhammad as he is introduced to be a perfect role model for all humanity in any time, including modern lives. It seems to be the component in the proposal narrative where fill the gap between the objectives and the eventual outcome. It is also where demonstrate the feasibility of the research project's by detailing the experiences and resources used that will be drawn upon to carry out the research.
CONCLUSION: Therefore, the tradition of the Holy Prophet has been investigated in order to show how he behaved in the multi-cultural and multi-religious environment of Medina in order to create a unified society. Dialogue was a tactic that the Prophet used in dealing with people by reciting the glorious Quran and issuing the Charter of Medina to unify the diverse society of Medina under a new culture of Muslim brotherhood and Umma.

Annotation The article reflects upon the challenges of the current documenta 15, considered in a broader historical context. It highlights the importance of the Nigerian art theorist Okwui Enwezor (documenta 11, 2002) who, by rejecting Eurocentrism and applying a post-colonial view of the global art scene to the selection of artists, paved the way for the ruangrupa artists from Jakarta, Indonesia. Like documenta 11, this year is also dominated by projects, where the results of collective actions have been preferred over individual works, the outputs of which often take the form of archives or libraries, in which political activism dominates art, even if the output is a picture or an installation. The article also addresses the People's Justice banner, which became the subject of public debate, and which, after its accusation of being anti-Semitist, was covered and later removed. The question arises why a work, created twenty years ago, four years after the fall of the Suharto regime as a coping with repression during his thirty-two-year military dictatorship, should be exhibited at documenta 15. What was the goal? The paper emphasizes the challenges of intercultural dialogue, the possibility of understanding historical events interpreted from different geopolitical, ideological, and cultural perspectives. The article concludes by the statement that intercultural dialogue can only work if there is empathy towards the Other, but it must be mutual. Therefore, it is somewhat surprising that the Russian aggression in Ukraine, which the entire European Union is experiencing intensely, including Germany, where there are around 700,000 Ukrainian migrants, remained on the documenta without a response.

A fter his return to Great Britain, Russell wrote a pamphlet entitled The Problem of China. In this short book, he described his private encounters with the ancient Middle Kingdom and offered readers numerous novel perceptions and images about this great, interesting, and then still unknown, almost mysterious country, which he believed had the potential to become one of the world's greatest powers. He wrote about the socio-political context of the country in great detail and offered a laborious analysis of China's political situation in the early 1920s, with the aim of proposing some practical replies to the most topical problems of the time. In this framework, he exposed the importance of the constitution and the rule of law, but also the necessity of a powerful and balanced leadership. Only on such a foundation could China, in his view, embark on a steady path towards industrial development and technological progress.

de Vega (Ámsterdam, 1688), está considerada como el primer tratado de la Bolsa de Acciones de Europa. Desde el punto de vista de la Historia de la Economía, sin duda, sigue planteando enigmas y cautivando el interés de sus estudiosos. El problema es que desde la perspectiva literaria e historiográfica no ha recibido aún un estudio en profundidad, hecho que desluce y terminar por restar su verdadero mérito a este texto, el cual —dicho sea de paso— ha permanecido siglos condenado en las estanterías de “volúmenes raros”. En este artículo ofrezco un estudio en el que trato la verdadera génesis de Confusión de confusiones desde el interés histórico y literario.

This article deals with various aspects of Caio Prado Jr.’s elaboration of historical temporalities. It focuses on Prado’s dialogue with the French historian Fernand Braudel in the 1930s and the 1940s. Our purpose is to highlight coincidences between Prado and Braudel’s understandings of temporality and how those understandings may have been mutually influential. We suggest possibilities for further analysis of this intellectual exchange, using personal documents such as correspondence from the Private Archive of Caio Prado Jr. (IEB-USP). This article approaches Braudel and Prado’s thought in a transnational perspective between France and Brazil, shedding new light on two intellectuals dear to Intellectual History and the History of Historiography.

Dialogues at the Intercultural Frontier: Preamble and Abstract

This is a DRAFT, stand-alone essay, intended to be included in a series of such essays. It forms part of a project called ‘Interculturalism and the Politics of Dialogue’ which explores various aspects of ‘interculturalism’, ‘intercultural dialogue’, and ‘intercultural knowledge’, and follows on from three earlier papers, available on Academia.edu and Researchgate.net.

Other bits and pieces previously existed in unpublished draft form, and this essay draws on some of these. Now renamed Dialogues at the Intercultural Frontier, it constitutes the essay earlier advertised as Case Studies in Intercultural Dialogue.

The three, now four, essays arose out of a long-term engagement, dating originally to the early 1980s, which slowly became more focused in the late 1990s and early 2000s. As the project’s  title suggests, my interest is primarily in dialogue as a social, and specifically a political phenomenon, rather than a cognitive or communicative or linguistic one, and I should add that I am specifically interested in intercultural dialogues which are concerned with culture and social and cultural difference, including religious difference, and what to do about it.

The present essay analyses a series of situations involving such dialogues in various contexts and situations. It will be recalled that ‘interculturalism’ has been advocated by academics, policy-makers and practitioners in Europe and Canada as an alternative strategy for coping with ethnic, cultural and religious diversity in the light of what are often believed to be the failures of multiculturalism. Dialogue, ‘intercultural dialogue’, is generally considered to be an integral component of that alternative strategy. The previous essays addressed various themes connected to that debate, including, in the third essay (Grillo 2017), assessing what was intended by the terms ‘intercultural’ and ‘dialogue’, what intercultural dialogue was expected to achieve, and whether such dialogue, or better perhaps ‘dialoguing’, is possible (in multiple senses), and if so under what conditions. The present essay continues that theme, moving from the general to the particular.

Including the introduction, the essay is in seven parts. Part 1 summarises the numerous starting points for my personal interest in intercultural dialogue, and sets out the contemporary social and political background. Parts 2-6 each focus on a certain site or situation, analysing what actually happened and with what result when the parties concerned engaged, or attempted to engage, in an intercultural dialogue. Part 7 offers some concluding observations.

As this is a stand-alone essay it repeats some of the introductory and explanatory material that appeared in the earlier essays. Such overlap will be eliminated if or when the four essays are ever pulled together in a single publication. Meantime, I welcome thoughts, comments, corrections of fact, and, although the paper is already far too long (and long-winded), suggestions for further reading, additional references which ought to be consulted, and additional sites which might be explored.

Finally, I must crave the indulgence of readers who are anthropologists. While the essay has been written from within an anthropological perspective, it does not consciously address an anthropological audience, and therefore glosses over certain issues that that audience might think critical.

This draft paper on the European Union’s ‘Year of Intercultural Dialogue’ (2008) and other related programmes by the EU and the Council of Europe (CoE) is intended eventually as a chapter in a longer study (perhaps a book) on  intercultural knowledge, intercultural dialogue, and interculturalism, others bits of which also exist in draft form. Here I review what ‘intercultural dialogue’ meant to the EU and the CoE, why they thought it necessary to engage with intercultural dialogue, what they hoped to achieve through such engagement, and how they set about implementing dialogue through various initiatives (‘actions’) mainly in the period since the turn of the 21st century. It also asks whether the end result was any more than ‘Words, Words, Words’.

There is a large academic and other literature on the EU and the CoE which directly or indirectly relates to the subject matter of this paper. While noting its relevance where necessary and helpful (for example as part of the background and context), the paper is not intended primarily as a contribution to the study of European institutions. My main concern is with intercultural dialogue and with what those institutions said and did about it, and where and how that fits into more general theoretical and empirical concerns about interculturalism. I welcome thoughts, comments, corrections of fact, and, although the paper is already far too long,  suggestions for further reading and additional references which ought to be cited.
 

Künstlerische Kooperationen zwischen dem ‚Globalen Norden‘ und dem ‚Globalen Süden‘ sprich zwischen reichen Industrienationen, die vornehmlich auf der nördlichen Halbkugel angesiedelt sind und armen Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländern, aber auch Transformationsländern, die in der Regel in der südlichen Hemisphäre verortet sind werden derzeit vielfach gefördert. Über die Realisierung dieser Partnerschaften wie beispielsweise zwischen Deutschland und Indien ist außer der Präsentation des Resultats – wie z. B. die Aufführung eines gemeinsam produzierten Theaterstücks – selten etwas bekannt. Es gibt nur wenige Dokumentationen, die die Chancen und Herausforderungen solcher internationaler Kooperationsarbeit aufzeigen. Ein rares Beispiel ist der Film „Seven Voyages“ über die Kooperation zwischen dem Ranga Shankara Theater in Bangalore und dem Schnawwl Kindertheater in Mannheim. Um voneinander und miteinander für eine zukünftige Kooperationskultur in den Künsten zu lernen, wird es Zeit, das Wissen und die wertvollen Erfahrungen aus den interkulturellen Partnerschaften darzustellen und zu teilen. Dafür sind Plattformen wie Symposien und Konferenzen oder Residenzen und Workshops notwendig, die diesen Austausch fördern: zwischen Kulturpolitikern und Kulturförderern, aber vor allem zwischen den Kulturmittlern und Künstlern, die die Kooperationsarbeit täglich umsetzen.

The research investigates how the dialogical approach and coaching can help to transform the public service into a coaching service for users, and how this approach to public service can be a social innovation.
The contribution briefly describes the Finnish experience of the past decade in some municipalities (particularly in the municipalities of pilot Nurmijarvi and Rovaniemi ) in the public service who practice a “ coaching service dialogic “ through the experience of the Dialogues Open – Open Dialogue , the cooperation Open Early – Early Open cooperation , and in particular on the on – Dialogues Dialogues from the future or anticipatory. (TE Seikkula 1993 2002; Arnkil , Seikkula , 2003, 2013) .
It also discusses the widespread dialogical experience of coaching in organizations. From these experiences comes this search .

A proposed innovation for social change, in which the dialogical approach (Buber 1993; Bakthin  1981, 1984, 1993) and Coaching may prove to be strategic, in order to improve the governance of social networks (Braghero 2012, 2012 Folgheraiter) the quality of services to individuals and citizen participation.
The research is conducted by the Department of Psychology, University of Jyvaskyla ( Fin) in collaboration with the Department of Psychology of SSF Rebaudengo the Salesian Pontifical University (UPS ) Turin, of the ‘ International Coaching Federation – ICF Italy & Finland . The methods used are, open interviews like “Dialogical Methods for Investigations of Happening of Change“ (Seikkula 2011), “Narrative Process Coding System” (Laitila, Aaltonen, Wahlström, Angus, 2001) Focus Groups ( Markova 2007), coaching sessions, Team and group coaching, Peer coaching.
