Greek State

From the time of its national independence until the present, Greece has existed as a peripheral, dependent and ‘backwards’ society; a society that tended to lag well behind the core of Europe in terms of political and economic developments.  The ongoing political crisis, however, has transformed Greece from laggard to vanguard.  The whole world anxiously looks to the latest developments in Greece for clues regarding their own fates and futures.  This essay examines this inversion of historical developments.  How have Greece’s peculiarities gone from being lagging outliers to the most extreme and advanced versions of much more universal tendencies?  What does the comprador nature of Greek capitalism and the growing insulation of the state from national social and political forces tell us about the future of democracy and global capitalism?  Is the current situation in Greece a temporary setback or is it simply the first glimpse of our collective future: ever more disembedded capitalist markets and ever more authoritarian political regimes?

Στην παρούσα εργασία θα αναφερθούμε στην περίοδο που προηγήθηκε και ακολούθησε τους Βαλκανικούς Πολέμους. Στην πρώτη ενότητα θα εξετάσουμε τα γεγονότα, τις πολιτικές και διπλωματικές εξελίξεις που προηγήθηκαν των Βαλκανικών Πολέμων. Στη δεύτερη ενότητα θα εξετάσουμε πώς διαμορφώθηκε η γεωγραφική έκταση και η πληθυσμιακή σύνθεση του ελληνικού κράτους μετά τη λήξη των πολέμων.

The aim of this paper is to investigate the discrimination ability of the KPG English Language Examination Battery of May 2012-A Level (A1 – A2). The present study proposes a new methodology for evaluating the discriminating ability of the test items. More specifically, the paper proposes the assessment of the test to be carried out by means of the Factorial Analysis of Correspondences (Analyse Factorielle des Correspondences-AFC). This specific analysis can differentiate the sub-level A1 from that of A2. The more essential target of the study is the identification of the items that differentiate Greek speaking students' level of English Language Competence. The survey sample consisted of 101 students of Greek state schools from different areas of Greece, who completed the KPG English Language Examination Battery of May 2012-A Level (A1 – A2). The participants of the research were 6 th grade primary school and 1 st grade secondary school students. The results confirmed the suitability of the above mentioned methodology.

Abstract The present research aims to explore the discriminating ability of the Greek State Language Certificate known as KPG, administered in May 2012, which examined the English language at A1/A2 Levels according to the scale of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The proposition of this paper pertains to the evaluation of the examination via the Vacor technique. The main target is the accuracy of differentiation of level A1 from level A2. More specifically, the goal is to identify items that differentiate the two levels for the Greek-speaking students as well as the Turkish-speaking students of the Muslim minority of Thrace. Accordingly, the suitability of items leading to the differentiation and classification into levels of the students' linguistic ability in English is investigated. The Vacor technique is proposed, whereby the suitability of each item and its contribution to the candidates' ranking into A1/A2 levels is checked. Therefore, the method is applied to two different groups, as mentioned above, and the results are compared. It was concluded that several items did not discriminate A1 from A2 levels in the English language in both groups. Thus, the present study confirms the choice of the Vacor technique for reviewing the suitability of the KPG qualification for English A1/A2 of May 2012. It is recommended that test items are reviewed in order to discriminate between levels for all groups of candidates. (2016). Το βιβλίο είναι καρπός έρευνας πρωτογενών πηγών και αρχείων. Ο άξονας γύρω από τον οποίο στρέφεται είναι οι πρακτικές του νεοελληνικού κράτους με στόχο τον μετασχηματισμό της Αθήνας από κατεστραμμένη κωμόπολη της οθωμανικής αυτοκρατορίας σε πρωτεύουσά του και παράλληλα, οι δράσεις της κοινωνίας στον κατασκευασμένο χώρο στο διάστημα 1833-1922. Εξετάζει τα μέσα και τους τρόπους που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για την υλοποίηση των κρατικών σχεδιασμών και τη συμμετοχή της ιδιωτικής πρωτοβουλίας στην ανοικοδόμηση. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, εστιάζει στην πολεοδομική πολιτική για την Αθήνα και τις επιπτώσεις της στην έγγειο ιδιοκτησία.
Το βιβλίο αποτελείται από τέσσερα κεφάλαια και δύο παραρτήματα. Το πρώτο κεφάλαιο αναφέρεται στις θεσμοθετημένες κρατικές παρεμβάσεις μέσω των σχεδίων και της νομοθεσίας, φωτίζοντας την ιδεολογία και τις κοινωνικές και αναπτυξιακές θεωρήσεις στις οποίες βασίζονταν. Αντικείμενο του δεύτερου κεφαλαίου είναι η δίνη των αλλαγών στην ιδιοκτησία γης. Παρουσιάζει την τύχη των εθνικών ιδιοκτησιών και της ιδιωτικής γης των αποχωρούντων μουσουλμάνων, την πληθώρα των μεταβιβάσεων γης και την εκρηκτική αύξηση αξιών. Τεκμηριώνει την έλλειψη της δημόσιας γης ως κύριο χαρακτηριστικό της πολεοδομικής συγκρότησης. Το τρίτο κεφάλαιο εστιάζει στην υψηλή οικοδομική δραστηριότητα που εξελίχθηκε για πολλές δεκαετίες και τις παραμέτρους της, εξετάζοντας τη διαχρονική διαδρομή των ακινήτων ως επένδυση και (όχι) ως πηγή φορολόγησης και τη σχέση τους με τον δανεισμό. Το τέταρτο κεφάλαιο αναδεικνύει τη σχέση της κοινωνίας της εποχής με την έγγειο ιδιοκτησία. Τα δύο παραρτήματα που ακολουθούν περιλαμβάνουν σε πίνακες τα περιεχόμενα στην Εφημερίδα Κυβερνήσεως 1833-1922 τα σχετικά με τις πολυάριθμες εγκρίσεις και τροποποιήσεις σχεδίων, το πρώτο και πλειστηριασμούς ακινήτων 1842-1870, το δεύτερο.
Η μελέτη φιλοδοξεί να έχει διττό χαρακτήρα. Να κάνει καταγραφή ως εργασία υποδομής, θεωρώντας ότι η τεκμηριωτική δραστηριότητα συμβάλλει στην απόκτηση ολοκληρωμένης γνώσης. Και με το διαθέσιμο νέο υλικό από την αρχειακή έρευνα να προχωρήσει σε νέες προσεγγίσεις, συνδέσεις και ερμηνείες. Επιχειρούνται συσχετίσεις και αναλογίες με την πρόσφατη ιστορία ή και με τη σύγχρονη πραγματικότητα, ώστε να είναι περισσότερο κατανοητά και εύληπτα τα ιστορικά γεγονότα.

Θα επιχειρηθεί να παρουσιασθεί η σύγχρονη λειτουργία της εκπαίδευσης, εστιάζοντας στο ελληνικό σύστημα εξουσίας και στην κυβερνολογική του.
Το σχολείο είναι ο μοναδικός ΙΜΚ με εξασφαλισμένο ακροατήριο για 5 ημέρες και 30-40 ώρες την εβδομάδα, υποχρεωτικά για 9 χρόνια. Χωρίς ταξικούς περιορισμούς, καθώς δέχεται το σύνολο των παιδιών και παρέχει την ιδεολογία του δωρεάν, μέσω του δημόσιου εκπαιδευτικού συστήματος. Η εκπαίδευση είναι μια κρατική λειτουργία.
Η εκπαιδευτική λειτουργία είναι κρατική, γιατί το κράτος αναλαμβάνει την οργάνωση του εκπαιδευτικού συστήματος. Αποτέλεσμα αυτής της οργάνωσης είναι ένα «ενιαίο εθνικό εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα»
