E-Commerce is one of the finest branches of the IT industry. Artificial Intelligence is a branch of computer science which is used by many businesses to manage the big data of the products. In this paper, a brief practical review is presented on the statistical evidence showing the Pedestrian road safety is a key point of the transport road safety policy in urban areas. Pedestrians are vulnerable road users and despite their limited representation in traffic events, pedestrian involved injuries and fatalities are overrepresented in traffic collisions. This paper presents the findings from the examination of the pedestrian crossing behaviour in signalized crosswalks. The study took place in peak traffic hours, during the summer. The target of the study was to count the pedestrian crossing time and velocity for each crosswalk. Furthermore, the target was to identify the illegal pedestrian crossing with red traffic light, criticize their behaviour and propose remedial actions. The traffic planners mostly give stress on motorized mode of movement .All kinds of steps are taken for development of roads in terms of safety, speed or time interval at intersections in case of motorized vehicle. But in present traffic condition, the non-motorized mode of traffic is also increasing. The pedestrians and bicyclists are occupying the track of motorized vehicle as no separate grades are provided for them. It leads to traffic congestion as well as the safety factor of pedestrian is at stake. According to HCM 2010, for this heterogeneous traffic, we can't just increase the level of service by developing the quality of roads for vehicles Steps have been taken to reclaim pavement for pedestrians by removing the encroachment on footpath. A study was carried out on Suchitra Junction where about footpath surrounding it and separated from road by divider along road side. The users were asked to answer the questions the quality of service provided by the system in terms of questionnaire formed .The format of questionnaire was based on the factors that user perceive. From the ratings, an analysis was carried out to find the level of service and waiting time of the interviewers .The analysis consisted of five factors as safety, Comfort level vendors encroachment ,accessibility and side walk performance, climate condition. The analysis was done on discrete continuous model and the area was categorized to a specific level of service out of 6 degrees of level of service (LOS).It is difficult to have LOS value for an area based on perception as it varies from person to person. So the trail is made to its best possible value of LOS depending on majority of the majority of user's perception.

Maternity wear is an inevitable need for the pregnant women to adapt themselves to the pregnancy driven major bodily changes. Modern day maternity wear not just ensures the comfort of the expecting mothers but also enhances the fashion appeal thereby allowing to retain the self-identity. Comfort in combination with style makes maternity wear the most sought after clothing solutions for the pregnant women. However, till date the timely use of appropriate maternity wear is more prevalent in the urban areas as opposed to the rural and peri-urban areas. The passenger’s reaction to the interior environment of aircrafts and in particular the definition and dimensions of passenger comfort have been the subjects of numerous studies for decades. The reason is the influence of comfort on passenger’s well-being on one hand and on passenger’s satisfaction, system acceptance and consequently choices of future airlines on the other. This paper offers an analytical review of previous research on passenger comfort, examines the notion of comfort experience and proposes a new conceptual model pinpointing the elements that influence aircraft passenger experience and their relationships. The model recognizes the role of physical, physiological, psychological, situational, and social factors on passenger experience and highlights the subjective nature of comfort by addressing the role of passenger’s perception of the cabin environment. It also acknowledges the influence of emotions on consequences of the interaction which are comfort/discomfort, overall judgment, future choices and behaviors.

Hungarians in the first half of the 19th century "discovered" British culture. Aristocrats and then middle-class intellectuals travelled there in increasing numbers. English gardens and parks and unkown forms of domestic architecture fascinated them.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate plasma treatment for Tencel microfibre fabrics for
possible improvement in various functional properties.
Design/methodology/approach – The plasma treated and untreated fabrics were dyed using reactive
dyes and evaluated for comfort properties such as wicking, water vapour permeability and air permeability.
Findings – The various comfort properties of plasma treated and an untreated Tencel microfibre fabric have
been studied. The wicking results showed a significant reduction in wicking time for plasma treated fabrics
compared to untreated fabrics. The test results for water vapour permeability show no significant difference
between plasma treated and untreated fabrics. The plasma treated samples show higher air permeability
than untreated samples. In the wetting test, it is clearly seen that the plasma treated samples absorbed the
water at a faster rate.
Originality/value – This research investigates plasma treatment for Tencel microfibre fabrics for possible
improvement in various functional properties.

ANALYSIS OF A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE WITH RESPECT TO THE COMFORT USING THE EUROCODE

A pedestrian steel bridge is analyzed with respect to the comfort according to the Eurocodes. A computational model for dynamic simulations of the bridge is developed using the FEM. The vibrations of the bridge are analyzed in three directions: vertical, horizontal-trasversal and horizontal-longitudinal. The analysis results are used to make an assessment of the bridge with respect to the comfort of the pedestrians.

Във връзка с това е разработен изчислителен модел за изследване на динамичното поведение на моста по метода на крайните елементи. Извършен е анализ на вибрациите на моста и в трите направления: вертикално, хоризонтално напречно и хоризонтално надлъжно. Направена е оценка на моста с оглед комфорта на пешеходците по Еврокода.

Effect of  bamboo viscose/tencel blend ratio on the moisture management properties of single jersey knitted fabrics has been studied. Moisture management properties, such as wetting time of top and bottom fabric surfaces, maximum moisture absorption rates of top and bottom surfaces, maximum wetted radii of top and bottom surfaces, spreading speeds of top and bottom surfaces, and cumulative one-way transport capacity and overall moisture management capacity have been considered and correlated to the blend ratio of bamboo viscose/tencel yarn single jersey knitted fabrics. It is observed that as the tencel content increases, the wetting time, absorption rate, spreading speed, overall moisture management capacity decreases but maximum wetted radius increases.

The majority of research on passengers’ subjective and holistic comfort relies on the retrospective recall of their experiences. Moreover, studies on the emotional responses of passengers to the aircraft interior are infrequent. This paper addresses the above issues by investigating the real-time comfort and emotional responses of passengers during the flight using an Experience Sampling Method (ESM). The results showed that the real time comfort remains constant during the flight, suggesting that passengers’ first impressions of the cabin could potentially determine their overall comfort. The results of emotional assessment highlighted two emotion groups as significant to passengers’ overall comfort in long haul flights. In general, fishing fleets operating in Maluku waters and managed by local entrepreneurs consist of mono hull fishing vessels (such as purse seines, etc.) and trimaran in chart form. These two types of fishing fleets have been known to the people of Maluku for a long time. However, these two types each have their advantages and limitations, for example, mono hull fishing boats have limited deck space and poor transverse stability, especially in bumpy sea conditions in extreme weather. While the trimaran type has better deck space and transverse stability than a mono hull ship, but because it is still in chart form, it has limited space. The shortcomings that exist in these two types of fishing fleets are coupled with the expertise or experience of fishermen which has minimal impact on the decrease in the catch and what is worse can be fatal to accidents and the sinking of ship arma. To increase the catch of fisheries, it is necessary to have a means and a reliable fishing fleet. This study aims to examine the development of trimaran fishing vessels in terms of the study of energy needs, safety and comfort for the captain and crew during fishing operations. The initial stage of this research begins with data analysis and the principal size of mono hull fishing vessels operating in Maluku waters, from this data the hull form of a trimaran vessel is designed with an area similar to or close to the area of a monohull fishing vessel operating in Maluku waters using maxsurf, then analyzed the calculation of obstacles. ship and stability to assess the energy needs and safety and comfort of the ship during fishing operations. This research is focused on analyzing the energy requirements, safety and comfort of the trimaran fishing vessel. The final result of this research is expected to be used as an alternative fishing boat to increase the fish catch of fishermen which will have an impact on the income and welfare of fishermen.

Abstract.
This paper explores what constitutes a comfortable experience in daily events, based on descriptive accounts of such experiences submitted by 35 participants. The results outline nine themes, eight of which are similar to the themes of passenger comfort in the flight context. Those are ‘peace of mind’, ‘pleasure’, ‘physical wellbeing’, ‘proxemics’, ‘satisfaction’, ‘social’, ‘association’ and ‘aesthetics’. It is assumed that these are universal elements of comfort and could potentially inspire design of everyday products or services that bring about comfortable experiences to users. However, the specific characteristics of a situation are expected to dictate the concerns of users relevant to those themes and consequently the comfort experience associated with the design. In addition, the results revealed the importance of the theme ‘esteem’ for comfort in daily situations, which is justified by a focus on self and a mental state directed at enjoyment in daily activities.

Since the Italian school buildings cause huge energy waste, it is increasingly compelling to identify, quantify and eliminate energy deficits through integrated audits and coordinated actions of energy saving and retrofit. We developed a methodology that is based on a holistic approach that correlates students' post occupancy evaluation with instrumental survey and software simulations and, at the same time, we examined an innovative use of virtual tour to make the energy audit results friendly available to school managers and community. This methodology, validated on a school building of the 20s-30s, identified energy saving and retrofitting actions according to cost levels.

This paper's purpose is to present and propose a method to enhance knowledge in comfort and discomfort in aircraft interior design, under Ergonomics Activity Analysis (EAA) methodological approach. Literature shows that comfort is an important subject to consider in competitive airlines market that may improve and differentiate companies and brands. Making a literature analysis and review, it was possible to verify that development of comfort in aircraft interiors design project is no easy task for engineers and designers. Moreover, comfort and interior design in aircraft are guided by several standards and rules, and these restrictions might diminish the possibilities on creation process. Notwithstanding, this paper proposes a multidisciplinary method originally developed to study comfort and discomfort in aircraft interiors, which are finally shown to be affordable to enhance capability in design product project.

Research was conducted in order to identify the effect of aromatherapy on pain, comfort and satisfaction during the first stage of childbirth, using  a  randomized  controlled,  quasi-experimental  trial  with  control  group.Study  was  conducted  between  01.06.2016-02.08.2016  at  the delivery  room  of  Republic  of  Turkey,  Ministry  of  Health,  Public  Hospitals  Administration,  Adana  Gynaecology  and  Paediatrics  Hospital.  The sample  of  the  study  was  a  total  of  60  pregnant  women  who  were  admitted  to  the  delivery  room  for  vaginal  delivery  between  the abovementioned  dates  and  fit  the  participation  criteria,  and  30  of  these  women  were  in  the  control  group  whereas  30  were  in  the experimental group. For data collection, “Personal Information Form”, “Visual Analog Scale (VAS)”, “Chıldbırth Comfort Scale (CCS)” and “Postpartum Self-Assessment Scale”s “Satisfaction with Childbirth” sub-dimension were used.  For data evaluation, percent distributions, chi-square significance test, independent samples t-test and Mann-Whitney Utest were used. In the Latent phase of childbirth, mean VAS was 3,4±2,1 in experimental group, 6,6±2,0 in control group; in the Active phase of childbirth, mean VAS was 6,1±1,7 in experimental  group, 8,7±1,0 in control group; in the Transition phase, meanVAS was 8,3±0,9 in experimental group, and 9,8±0,5 in control group, and the difference  between  groups  was  significant  in  all  phases  (p=0.000).  In  the  Latent  phase  of  childbirth,  mean  CCS  points  was  3,4±2,1 in experimental group, 6,6±2,0 in control group;in the Active phase of childbirth, mean CCS points was 6,1±1,7 in experimental group, 8,7±1,0 in control group; in the Transition phase, mean CCS points was 8,3±0,9 in experimental group, and 9,8±0,5 in control group, and  the difference between groups wassignificant in all phases (p=0.000). Mean value of Satisfaction with Childbirth points was 30,03±2,53 for the experimental group and 27,6±3,6 for the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (p=0.000).In this study, aromatherapy wasfound  to  reduce  the  perception  of  pain  and  increase  the  level  of  comfort  and  satisfaction  during  the  first  stage  of  childbirth.    These results show that aromatherapy is a nursing intervention that is efficient in coping with labour pain and increasing thelevel of comfort and satisfaction

This work addresses the grand challenge for human-computer interaction of learning and creativity, in the context of smart cities. Through a review of the research literature for learning in relation to attuning and then for creativity in relation to adaptability, a theoretical perspective and conceptual framework is developed for learning and creativity in smart cities. Using an exploratory case study approach combined with an explanatory correlational design, relationships for learning and creativity in urban environments are explored using survey data and in-depth interviews. Additionally, emotion/affect is explored in relation to learning and creativity in terms of the experience of comfort in urban environments. This work is significant in that it provides a hybrid approach to understanding the grand challenge of learning and creativity through the use of both quantitative and qualitative data and analysis. This paper contributes to the research literature for smart cities, learning cities, and creativity in smart environments; develops and operationalizes a conceptual framework for learning and creativity in smart cities; and points to the importance and potential for learning and creativity relationships in smart, urban environments.

This study aimed to investigate women’s motivations for panties usage.
By means of a survey with 348 women, comfort perception versus appearance evaluation were analyzed, through an behavioral approach. The analysis involved a clustering of primary data and crosstables among clusters. K-Means Cluster Analysis and Pearson’s Chi-square Tests by Crosstables were applied. Results indicated that daring women tend to be extroverted and value psychological comfort; conservative women tend to be introverted and value psychological comfort; moderate women tend to be contextual in usage and does not prioritize any comfort dimension.

Compatibility between theoretical structures of comfort, pleasure and cognitive engineering (themes of ergonomic design) is demonstrable. Pleasure pursues adding gains; comfort and cognitive engineering struggle with relieving pain and minimizing loss. The psychological human aspect is common to these three Human Factors quality design approaches. Commonalities were found between comfort and pleasure and between cognitive engineering and pleasure. A common underlying structure of activity-goal-user-artefact was demonstrated on the basis of empirical studies. This showed that deriving measurable variables and identifying operatives could be done form the operation level of activity theory. Activity theory enabled structuring and organising a research-design process underlying the conduction of specific design studies. This process is also suggested as applicable for designing Human Factors and Ergonomics quality wherever theory gaps are found.

Introduction: Breakthrough technologies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) revolutionized neonates' quality of care. Mother scented simulated hand (MSSH) is an ergonomically designed supportive hand that uses the power of touch to simulate the feeling of being held and cuddled. This study aimed to determine the effect of MSSH on promoting comfort among mechanically ventilated preterm neonates during invasive procedures. Methods: A quasi-experimental, pre-posttest two groups study was carried out in NICU in Smouha, Alexandria. A sample of 62 mechanically ventilated neonates was randomly assigned to two equal groups; the study group wrapped with a warm MSSH during the invasive procedures while the control group received standard care of NICU. Two observers independently rated the neonates' level of comfort, distress, and pain during endotracheal suctioning (ETS) and heel prick using COMFORTneo scale. Results: It is revealed that the mechanically ventilated neonates had a significantly higher comfort level with MSSH than the standard care during and after both ETS and heal break (p < 0.001 for each). The neonates had significantly lower distress and pain scores when encircled by MSSH during invasive procedures than standard care (p < 0.001 for NRS distress and p < 0.001 for NRS distress). Conclusion: Wrapping the preterm neonates with a warm MSSH promotes comfort and reduces their pain and distress during invasive procedures, especially when their mothers are not physically available.

The current study analyses the effect of using a pendulum type tilting child seat on
the comfort improvement and the reduction of kinetosis (motion sickness) among
children traveling in an automobile. Road tests with registration of the accelerations
for a conventional child seat and a pendulum type tilting child seat are performed.
Results for the spectral densities of the linear accelerations along the orthogonal axes
are presented. The quadratic means of accelerations acting on both seats are
calculated and compared. Results for the motion sickness dose value are obtained

The issue of climate change came to the fore in the global and long-term objectives of the ХХІ century and the priorities of the international agenda. Studying fountains as architectural structures, elements of improving the urban environment that form the microclimate, increase comfort, adapt the urban environment to climate change manifestations - solve urban planning tasks of environmental, economic, recreational and social orientation with the dream of restoring the urban environment favorable for human activity.
Проблема зміни клімату висунулася в перший ряд глобальних та довгострокових викликів ХХІ століття й пріоритетів міжнародного порядку денного. Дослідження фонтанів як специфічних споруд, елементів благоустрою міського середовища, що формують мікроклімат, підвищують комфортність, адаптують міське середовище до проявів зміни клімату - розв’язують містобудівні завдання екологічного, економічного, рекреаційного та соціального спрямування в напрямку оздоровлення (відновлення) сприятливого для життєдіяльності людини довкілля.

Kamusal mekanlardan olan geniş programlı bir alışveriş merkezinde AVM’nin giriş- çıkışları ile yatay sirkülasyon elemanlarından olan dolaşım alanlarının (koridorlarının), fiziki konfor ölçütlerinin evrensel tasarım ilkeleri doğrultusunda incelenmesi çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmaktadır. The domestication of technology in People’s Republic of Poland was the key factor in the shift towards consumer society. Drawing upon ethnographic data, this article discusses the meanings of the social practices of domestication of technologies in the second half of the twentieth century in Poland. The practices of domestication of technologies were organized around the meanings of progress and comfort. The discourse of progress was legitimized and propagated by the socialist state. The narratives of comfort were rooted in everyday experience of the interlocutors. The meanings of the practices of domestication of technology differed among historical generations.

This paper deals with the comfortable sitting posture for prolonged period of driving. Today automobile comfort expectation has been on a steady rise. To offer the driver sufficient comfort during a long journey, sitting posture plays a vital role in safety and comfort. Upright driving position is to enhance comfort especially on prolonged periods of driving. The purpose of using mounted low-cost load cell is to provide a real-time data of seated person. Optimum posture is more prominent for sitting comfort for long time of driving. Predictions of discomfort is mainly based on the various sitting posture and to enhance the optimize posture is greatly to minimize fatigue. The optimum sitting position is to play an important role in fulfilling comfort expectations. Propose the improvements in recommended practices in order to accommodate the driver in best seated position. In optimal sitting position is to enhance the natural curvature of elongated "S" shaped curve with evenly distributing the load. Good sitting posture and relaxed position of driving is mainly focused on concentration and responsibilities. It is also beneficial to assess the ease Ingress/egress.

Home is widely recognised as a place of emotional attachment, often expressed and articulated through material objects which lie at the heart of attempts to uncover what made a house into a home. One important aspect of this is the notion of comfort, both in a physical and emotional sense; yet comfort is a relative term, its fulfilment dependent upon a wide range of economic, social, cultural, environmental and psychological factors – from wealth to the weather, and from family to fashion. This conference aims to explore the wide range of ways in which ideas and ideals of comfort were expressed in and through the home; how these changed over time and space, and whether it is possible to identify a European conceptualisation of home and comfort.

This study aimed to see how different treatments affect the low-stress mechanical properties of micro-denier polyester/cotton (MDP/C-65/35) fabrics. This blend was chosen for the study because it is the most popular blend used in polyester/cotton blended material. The results of fabric properties treated with sericin revealed that fabrics treated with sericin and glutaraldehyde as a cross-linking agent had higher bending rigidity, regardless of how it was tested. Concerning the blend fabrics, it was noticed that there was deterioration in tensile resilience following sericin treatment. Shear rigidity, accompanied by shear hysteresis, showed an increase in sericin-treated fabrics. Compression properties were affected by the treatment, and in general, the fabric suffered deterioration in those the samples were hard. Surface properties such as coefficient of friction, mean deviation of friction and mean deviation of surface contour were found to be higher than those of the control and sericintreated fabrics in a few cases.

The question posed in this paper is whether traditional Thai houses perform better than a typical contemporary Thai house in creating comfortable internal conditions. And if they do how is it possible for the contemporary house to benefit from the advantages presented in the design of the traditional house in terms of thermal performance while maintaining thermal comfort conditions for its occupants. The thermal performance of both types of buildings is therefore investigated, using a simulation model and based on a selection of thermal performance criteria of local traditional and contemporary house models in Thailand. The results indicate that improved performance might be achieved by combining selected lessons from the traditional design e.g. improved shading, regional variations in window size related to orientation, and adoption of adjustable ventilation and window openings.

Emotion descriptions were elicited from participants&#39; written accounts of their comfort experience and grouped according to the emotion model by Ortony, Clore, and Collins (OCC). The cognitive structure and specific appraisal patterns of passengers were explored on three levels of passenger&#39;s concerns (goals, standards, and aspects), their focus during the flight (including the mediating cabin elements) and the resulting emotions. Four emotion groups were highlighted as relevant to flight comfort. Wellbeing (e.g., joy, distress) emotions were the most frequently mentioned group by participants when focused on the consequences of interaction with cabin features such as seat, IFE and service, pertaining to participants&#39; personal goals (e.g., security, calmness).
