Privacy

whiona.me uses Tinylytics, a GDPR-compliant small website analytics tool. I selected this specific tool because I am not OK with gathering personal data, and Tinylytics doesn't do that.

Here are the things that are logged when you visit:

  • Your country
  • Your browser
  • Your platform (OS or mobile device)
  • What pages you looked at

That's it! Nothing that could identify you as a person, such as your IP address, will ever be tracked. I'm not a business, nor do I run advertisements. These stats exist solely to sate my personal curiosity and learn what pages people are viewing with what devices, so I can ensure the site remains optimal for my visitors.

If you aren't comfortable with sending me any information, then by all means, browse my site using a VPN, enable privacy extensions, or do whatever else you need to do to feel comfortable. (Not that you needed my permission.) That's what I do when I browse the general internet because corporations are shady as hell.

But rest assured, whiona.me does not collect your personal info for nefarious, capitalistic purposes. I'm just wondering how many folks from around the world are visiting my digital home. I'd like to know how many cups of virtual tea to prepare for my guests! 🍡 <- there's yours btw
