You may have noticed that the footer on my site says that some rights are reserved. I wanted to make a page discussing in-depth what that means and how my work can or can't be used.

Yes!

You are permitted to...

Generally use my work for private, non-commercial purposes. Examples include phone backgrounds, TTRPG character face claims, or a printed picture on your wall.
Use my work as inspiration for your own. If something I made inspires you to create too, then I couldn't be happier!!!
Reference my code to figure out how to do something on your personal site. Everyone does this! Such is the nature of code. (Obviously, don't copy my site wholesale, but taking snippets here and there is perfectly OK.)
Use my art as a personal profile icon, banner, forum signature, etc. Please provide credit or a link back somewhere on your profile.
Share my work on your personal social media timeline. Please provide credit or a link back within the post.
Display my art on your personal website or blog. Please provide credit or a link back somewhere near the image, or in an otherwise logical place like a Credits page.
Translate my work to other languages.
Play, read, or display my work in a Youtube video, on a stream, etc. Please provide credit or a link back either in the video itself or in the description.
Create fan works of my characters. Please show me if you do!!!

Please note that these rules do not apply to any of my work that is a commission, trade, or gift. In that case, you must consult the recipient of the work for their permissions to use it.

Ask Me!

Please ask permission before you...

Use my work for commercial purposes, or while acting as a corporate entity. This would include posting my work to the social media timeline of a brand account or displaying it on a corporate website.
Reupload my writing, OC profiles, or games to your website or blog. Small excerpts are fine so long as they're credited to me. Just don't repost an entire story or redistribute my game files without asking me first.
- Exception: Translators have automatic permission to upload my translated writing or games to a personal website, blog, or forum, with a link back the source material.

No!

You are NOT permitted to...

Claim ownership over my work. Obviously.
Use work I created as a commission, trade, or gift for somebody else, unless you have the recipient's permission.
Use my work for hateful or discriminatory purposes.
Use my work to promote a political party or candidate.
Repost my work on a website that would imply you are its creator. By this I mean: posting one of my drawings to Deviantart, posting one of my stories to Wattpad, etc.
Mint, sell, own, or trade my work as an NFT.
Direct an AI to generate materials based on my work. I realize there's little recourse to prevent my work from showing up in AI databases as all, but please do not include me or my work in your prompts on purpose.
Hotlink to any of my images. Please upload them to your own server!

These rules override any rules in the previous sections (Yes or Ask Me).

If you're ever unsure about using my work, just shoot me an email to ask. I'm pretty lenient so long as you're an individual acting in good faith!
