We conducted a qualitative study (2019-22) to contextualise Colombia's energy policy for sustainable development and renewable energy diversification, focusing on the new governance toolbox of market incentives, weak institutions, security risks in areas of limited statehood, and the role of indigenous people. We also examined how geopolitical events, such as COVID-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, are affecting fossil fuel and decarbonisation strategies. Our findings suggest that weak institutions are a major obstacle to Colombia's energy transition. The Western definition of energy democracy takes for granted good governance in line with SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions; however, in Colombia, the context of social unrest, violence, corruption, and inequality hinders its implementation. Colombia's energy policy considers green investment a market opportunity rather than a way of institution building or phasing down fossil fuels, and there is no meaningful communication with civil society, especially indigenous people, to develop small-scale green investment initiatives. This study enhances energy policy by emphasising the role of governance and strong institutions in energy democracy. We argue that if governments and corporations were committed to climate change mitigation, they would invest in institution building over renewable energy.

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la existencia o ausencia de relación entre la intención emprendedora y un conjunto de variables cognitivas (autoeficacia emprendedora, actitud emprendedora y estilo emocional) y variables socio-personales (sexo, experiencia laboral, trabajar actualmente, poseer una empresa familiar, vivir con padres o no) en estudiantes universitarios. Método: participaron 159 estudiantes de los cuales 73 eran mujeres y 86 hombres. A través de una regresión logística se encontró que una alta autoeficacia para el liderazgo de recursos claves y un bajo estilo emocional de rumiación, contribuyen con la intención de emprender. Se discuten estos resultados en el contexto latinoamericano y se recomienda el énfasis que debe hacerse en la formación de futuros profesionales universitarios orientados a emprender, dando mayor relevancia a aspectos psicológicos del individuo en vez de la visión estrictamente económica y gerencial presente en los planes de formación...

PurposeWe explore and explain how academic organizations attempt to establish legitimacy in a transition to a postconflict context, and we examine the ethical challenges that emerge from insightful approaches to formal education in such contexts.Design/methodology/approachWe use legitimacy theory to present a case study of a business school in Medellin, Colombia (herein referred to by the pseudonym BS-MED) in the empirical setting of the end of the most prolonged armed conflict in the world.FindingsWe identify the mechanisms implemented by BS-MED to comply with the Colombian government's peace process and rhetoric of business profitability and the faculty members' initiatives in response to social and academic tensions.Originality/valueThis study identifies the sources of the tensions and discrepancies between the regulatory and pragmatic versus moral and cultural-cognitive criteria of legitimacy in transitions to a postconflict context. This paper presents an analysis of the entrepreneurial intentions of university undergraduate students, with particular regard to those studying design. Attitudinal, social and capabilities variables are analysed in order to determine the profile of an entrepreneur. Using a sample of 521 undergraduate students, the findings show that design students demonstrate a high entrepreneurial intention (62%). In addition, it was found that attitudinal factors outweighed the students' self-perceived inability to develop their own businesses.

This report provides a compass for Danish companies interested in the Colombian energy market. In addition to illustrating the state of Colombia's energy system to help foster dialogue and cooperation between Colombia and Denmark in sustainable energy systems, it presents an overview of the legal framework for Colombia’s energy transition with the aim of elucidating current and future investment opportunities in nonconventional renewable energy in Colombia, particularly in wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal energy.

This article presents the results of the reflective process of “systematization” that was carried out by a group of researchers from different disciplines. The goal of the reflective process was to answer the question “What does it mean to have a social justice perspective when conducting qualitative research?” We draw from moral and political philosophy to chart our theoretical route. We highlight how research grounded on social justice values requires researchers to take into account instrumental-methodological matters in the service of such values and to consider them as guiding principles. Moral and political philosophy also leads us to evaluate the results of research differently. Finally, we assert that a research perspective centered on social justice becomes a political movement that exerts pressure on traditional hegemonic scientific practice. Social justice research, we conclude, challenges science to democratize and to meaningfully contribute to overcoming unjust conditions and discrimination.

El método de investigación abductivo, surgido en el campo de la semiótica, permite describir y comprender hechos sociales a partir de sus causas, condiciones preexistentes constitutivas del fenómeno, a la luz de diversas teorías necesarias para ello. Siendo así, bajo el paradigma cualitativo y en los estudios del consumidor, la abducción es óptima para la integración disciplinar, cuyo interés es la reconstrucción narrativa del fenómeno, más allá de los intereses de las diversas disciplinas intervinientes. Los resultados de investigación presentados aquí se organizan según el esquema abductivo: 1. La información de campo sobre las características propias del segmento de jóvenes (universitarios). 2. Marco de referencia teórico y conceptual y, 3. Construcción del caso de investigación con la siguiente hipótesis emergente: los jóvenes universitarios toman como referente la identidad de marca global, independiente del esfuerzo económico, mientras la estrategia calcula la orientación de la decisión de compra.

La marca, como estrategia, se orienta a influir en el comportamiento de compra basado en la creación de vínculos emocionales entre su propuesta de identidad y el individuo. La marca a su vez es susceptible de ser falsificada; según estadísticas el primer lugar lo tienen los bienes de lujo y la falsificación de ropa. El consumidor conoce dónde se consiguen y cuánto valen, estos mercados se encuentran en todo el mundo desde el populoso sector comercial de Canal Street en Nueva York hasta la calle de Puin Rot en Taiwán, pasando por los mercadillos callejeros de París. Así, paradójicamente, en la medida en que la industria de la confección invierte esfuerzos en la globalización de sus marcas la falsificación se constituye en un problema mundial que aqueja las economías. Esta situación da pie a las siguientes preguntas de investigación: ¿Cuáles son los factores que determinan la intención de compra de ropa de marca falsificada?, ¿Existen diferencias de una ciudad a otra? Y en caso de existir diferencia ¿En qué consiste? Este estudio es de tipo cuantitativo transversal-analítico, transcultural, en cuatro ciudades: Madrid – España, Bolonia – Italia-, Chicago – Estados Unidos de Norteamérica- y Medellín – Colombia; se apoya en la estadística descriptiva; el análisis multivariante y la estimación de dos modelos Probit y Probit Ordenado. El instrumento de recolección es la encuesta.
