    Laboratory scale-up of Flavonoid-- glycoside was synthesized using enzyme of CGT-ase  which was isolated from cultivated of Bacillus Licheniformis.  CGT-ase enzyme has optimum capability at the temperature of 45C, pH  6.5. yielded 7.864 unit/minute/mL.  The pretest of CGT-ase transfer activity was carried out using pyrocatechol and resorcinol as an acceptor and iso-malto and commercial starch solution as the glucosyl donor.  Subsequently, acceptor was replaced by  flavonoid (Etyl acetate and butanol fraction) extracted from four types of gambir from West Sumatra.     Coconut is a potential commodity to be developed. The development of coconut agro-industry can increase product added value. Value-added analysis needs to be carried out to find out how much the added value of processed coconut product is. The calculation of basic costs also needs to be done to find out how much it costs to produce 1 unit or 1 kg of product. This research is beneficial as decision support through useful information for coconut farmers in increasing their income. Value-added analysis in this study used the Hayami method, while the calculation of the cost of processing involves fixed costs, variable costs, working hours, and production capacity.     Flexible polyurethane foams can be synthesized using polyols having a hydroxyl value of less than 100 mg KOH/g. The value of the hydroxyl value is affected by the temperature and time of the oxirane rings opening reaction. The purpose of this study was to examine the combination of temperature and time of the best oxirane rings opening reaction to produce polyols with a hydroxyl value of less than 100 mg KOH/g. Epoxidized palm oil was treated with temperature (50°C, 60°C, 70°C, and 80°C) and time (1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, and 4 hours). Parameters observed were hydroxyl value, hydroxyl content, density, viscosity, acid number, and color. The best treatment continued with the FTIR test. The oxirane rings opening reaction using a temperature of 50°C for 1 hour gave a hydroxyl value of 75.87 mg KOH/g.

    Abstrak Makalah ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana penelitian terkait sistem pendukung keputusan dan pengolahan kelapa terpadu yang telah dilakukan pada riset-riset terdahulu. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan review jurnal-jurnal terkait pengolahan kelapa terpadu, dan sistem pendukung keputusan. Didapatkan sekitar 100 buah jurnal. Dari hasil review jurnal didapatkan gap pengetahuan yang akan diisi adalah mengaplikasikan konsep DSS untuk pengolahan kelapa terpadu, sehingga penggunaan bahan baku kelapa untuk pengolahan bisa dioptimalkan. Untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan bahan baku dalam pengolahan kelapa terpadu, bisa dilakukan dengan bantuan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan. SPK ini bisa membantu petani kelapa dan pihak terkait untuk memutuskan pengolahan kelapa yang akan dipilih sehingga penggunaan bahan baku bisa optimal.

    Gambir merupakan komoditas unggulan Sumatera Barat, produktivitas rantai pasok gambir saat ini masih memiliki kendala dari tingkat keuntungan yang tidak setara di setiap aliran rantainya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui nilai tambah yang diperoleh di setiap pelaku rantai pasok gambir. Mekanisme rantai pasok gambir diidentifikasi menggunakan metode kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan sistem yang didukung dengan metode Hayami termodifikasi untuk menghitung nilai tambah. Pada skala industri kapasitas pabrik pengolahan eksportir gambir 1250 kg gambir/jam dan tingkat harga jual gambir masyarakat Rp. 45.000/kg, harga Gambir katekin (Produksi eksportir) Rp 189.000/kg di dapat hasil perbandingan nilai tambah Petani (11%) : Pedagang pengumpul (30 %) : Eksportir lokal (60 %). One of the important steps in making corn cobs powder is drying to determine the durability and quality of the corn cobs powder. This study aimed to determine different drying durations of corncobs powders and their effect on physical, nutritional, and phytochemical properties as an alternative to functional food and foodstuffs. The experimental design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of one factor with four treatments: 4;5;6;7; and 8 hours and four replications. The results showed that the quality defectives of coffee is at a quality level from 3 to 5 and 70% quality of coffee in accordance with SNI (Indonesian National Standards) 01-2907-2008. This method will eliminate the costly extraction process and reduce the long production system associated with pre-extracted oil and maximize alkyl ester yield. In this paper the production of fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) by direct in situ alkaline-catalyzed transesterification of the triglycerides (TG) in jatropha seeds was investigated and its environmental performance was compared with the conventional alkali catalyzed transesterification process using LCA as a tool.     The effect of durian flesh on the characteristics of Gayo Arabica wine coffee quality by fermentation methods has been investigated. This study aims to determine the effect of giving durian flesh to the characteristics of the Arabica Gayo wine coffee and to determine the optimum addition amount of durian flesh. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. Data analysis using ANOVA was then continued with Duncan's New Multiple Range test (DNMRT) at a significance level of 5%.  The treatments were: the addition of durian flesh 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 g to 1000 g of a coffee cherry. Based on the sensory test, the highest score was obtained by adding 0 g of durian flesh to 1000 g coffee cherry (Score: 76.5)  which was followed by the addition of 75 g of durian pulp to 1000 g coffee cherry (score: 72.75).  The results showed that the addition of durian pulp had a significant effect on the ash content and caffeine content but did not signif...

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan industri kecil gula kelapa secara finansial. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Kempas Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Provinsi Riau, Indonesia. Dari 4 pengrajin gula kelapa yang terdapat di lokasi penelitian, digunakan dua pengrajin sebagai sampel. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu untuk mengetahui proses produksi gula kelapa, dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan finansial industri kecil gula kelapa dengan menggunakan metode NPV, Net B/C Ratio, dan IRR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses produksi gula kelapa meliputi penyadapan nira, penyaringan, pemasakan, pencetakan, dan pengemasan. Industri kecil gula kelapa ini layak dikembangkan berdasarkan analisis finansial. Nilai NPV sebesar 125.133,98 dengan diskon faktor 10 %, Net B/C Ratio sebesar 4,53 dan nilai IRR sebesar 42 %.

    Background: The utilization of liquid hand soap is an alternative to prevent virus transmission in COVID 19 Pandemic. The production of aromatic hand soap and distribution to the public will be an effort to support the prevention of the spread of the corona virus. Methodology: Aromatic hand soap made from eucalyptus is produced and distributed to people in Padang City as an alternative product for people to maintain their personal hygiene. Conclusion: This eucalyptus-flavored handsoap has received a lot of positive feedback. This product can assist people in maintaining their personal hygiene. The public does not like the smell of eucalyptus oil in this hand soap product. The formulation of this product will need to be completed in the future.

This study aimed to optimize temperature and extraction time for the nutritional and phytochemical contents of corn bran with ultrasonic-method. Optimized Custom Design was applied to investigate the effect of experimental factors on the nutritional and phytochemical contents.     Medicinal plants are plants that can be used as raw materials for traditional medicine, which if it consumed will increase immunity. Indonesian medicinal plants have a high contribution to world drug production. North Sumatra is one of the provinces producing a variety of traditional medicinal plants. There are 63.10% of Indonesian people choose self-medication and there are 21.41% of them take traditional medicine and 3.96% do other treatments. In less than 6 years from 2000 to 2006 there was an increase of the traditional medicine utilization reach of 23.10%.  This fact shows that traditional medicinal plants have a strong potential in improving the economy of North Sumatra Province.     In 2020, it is projected that the number of households in the Kepulauan Mentawai Regency will reach 22,534 units in which 9,471 units have received electricity from the State Electricity Company (PLN). By the end of 2020, as many as 1,244 households will be targeted to get electricity from the bamboo biomass power plant that has been built. Thus until the end of 2020, there were still 11,819 household units that would not yet get electricity. The Kepulauan Mentawai Regency Government targets that by the end of 2035 all households will have electricity, by developing electricity using bamboo biomass raw materials. The number of households in the Kepulauan Mentawai Regency until the end of 2035 is projected to be 28,639 units, of which from 2020 to the end of 2035, there will be 17,924 household units including electricity needs. If each household is targeted to get 450 VA power, then the total electricity power still needed is 8,066 KVA or approximately 70,758,160 kWh/year. The bamboo biomass power plant, which will be operated in the Kepulauan Mentawai Regency, currently requires 1.5 kg of dry bamboo to produce 1 kW power with a power factor (ghospi) of 0.8. Thus the need for bamboo for power plants is approximately 132,484.1 tons/year. Therefore, to provide this bamboo supply, approximately 714 ha of bamboo is needed.

    Farmers expanded the smallholder plantation to the protected tropical rainforest area due to declining of coffee productivity by the old age of coffee trees and degraded soils in West Lampung, Sumatra Island of Indonesia. The research aimed to study the performance of rehabilitated Robusta coffee trees and citronella grass (Andropogon nardus L.) as a conservation crop to improve the smallholder coffee plantation productivity. The old Robusta coffee trees (more than 25 years old) were rehabilitated by side grafting. Scions for the grafting were superior clones such as Sumber Asin (SA) 237, Besoekish Proefstation (BP) 436, and 534. In the experiment, two scions were grafted to each of 600 local Robusta coffee trees. To know the effect of grafting, the coffee trees were observed using stratified random sampling with equal sample allocation. The strata were varying positions of land on the hill, i.e., peak, ridge, and bottom, and the other were the three clones. The citronella was planted along the contour line among the coffee trees, with a vertical interval (VI) was 1.25 m. On average, the two grafted branches of coffee trees could produce green beans 453 g. It was higher than the average yield of the farmers' coffee trees, i.e., 387 g tree-1. The SA 237, however, was vulnerable to the attack of berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei). Besides, to control erosion, the citronella grass under 40 to 60% covered by coffee trees canopy, produced fresh leaves 10-ton ha-1 year-1 or essential oil as much as 87 L (essential oil content of leaves 0.87%), approximately. That was equivalent to $1,115 in a year. The citronella also improved the soil chemical properties, especially organic-C, P 2 O 5 , Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , and Al 3+ .

    One of the types of coffee cultivated in Solok Regency is Arabica Coffee (Coffea Arabica L). The quality of the coffee produced can be influenced by the proper harvesting and post-harvest process so as to produce ground coffee with good quality. This research is done by the method of observation, descriptive, and hedonic test. Ground coffee produced in Solok Regency has a semi-mechanical harvesting process while the post-harvest process begins with the release of the skin and meat of the fruit, subsequent drying, and release of the skin of horns, sorting and grading, roasted, milling and packaging.     The purpose of this study were to determine the effect of temperature and roasting duration on physical characteristics  and quality of arabica coffee sensory,: find out the best temperature and roasting duration treatmen to physical characteristics and quality of arabica coffee sensory. This study used a factorial complete randomized design with two factors (200°C, 220°C and 240°C) and duration of roasting (12, 15, and 18 minutes). The variables observed in this study were rendemen (sucrose content of sugar cane crop or sample), water content, color value, acidity and sensory test of arabica coffee. The results showed that temperature and duration of roasting had effect on rendemen, water content, color value, acidity, flavor, taste and color of arabica coffee.
