The aim of this research is to evaluate the sustainability of pig farming with serasah system based on spiritual and cultural aspects in Kertek region, Wonosobo regency. The research was performed at six villages located in Kertek region, i.e : Candimulyo, Candiyasan, Kapencar, Pagerejo, Purbosono and Reco, with three steps activities : preparation, data collection and data analysis. The preparation step consists of collecting information from literature review required for starting this research. Data collection was conducted to gain primary data which is related to pig farming with serasah system by observation method, in depth interview and questioner survey to identify factors that having role on pig farming sustainability with serasah system. Feed certification is released by authorized third parties as external cues indicating that products have met standard quality. However, farmers do not always take certification as the main consideration in product selection because of insufficient knowledge or they are skeptical about certification. This research aims to analyze the effect of feed certification, company image, opinion leader, perceived product quality, customer trust, and satisfaction to layer farmers’ customer loyalty. Respondents were selected by using purposive sampling with the criteria that respondents were layer farmers with experience for at least 1 year and customers of concentrate or ready-made feed. The objective of this research is to identify the personal ity effect on job performance of high educational level staff in companies of livestock industry. Survey design was used in this study. Thirty respondents were selected by using purposive sampl ing method; those were the ones who worked in companies of l ivestock industry, had at least diploma degree and had working experience 3-15 years. Data was col lected by individual interviews. Jackson Personal ity Index was used to measure personal ity variable and Workplace Behavior Questionnaire for perceptual measurement of job performance. Data was analyzed by using regression analysis. The result shows that regression coefficient was 0,64, R2 33,40% and significance level was 0,014. This result indicates that personal ity affect positively and significantly in order to develop job performance. This study intends to capture the household budget of livestock products consumption and its calorie consume in six provinces of Java Island in Indonesia. An empirical analysis is made by employing simple Engel model and the descriptive analysis. The result suggested that both household in urban and rural area spent their income for meat higher than that of egg and milk. In other words, as income increase consumption of meat responds much faster than consumption on egg and milk. The calories consume from meat, egg and milk consumption are still low, under government’s recommendation.

We estimated qualityelasticity of livestock products foods consumption with respect to income over time. Household expenditure survey data were used in this study particularly household. Based on Engel’s framework, the basic analysis is used to analyze the expenditureand quantity onlivestock products food demand. The result showed that income affected the expenditure and quantity demand of beef, chicken, egg, and milk. Estimation of expenditure, quantity, and quality elasticity showed that elasticities of these foods respecttohousehold income. Change of income and price is responsive to these food items. Thus, improve the quality of food consumption, particularly for high-value food e.g. animal protein food is important agenda.

Data diperoleh dari 34 peternak anggota kelompok Sukorejo I di Turi Sleman Yogyakarta yang menjadi peserta kompetisi. Pengetahuan peternak dievaluasi dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang berisi beberapa pertanyaan terkait karakteristik kambing perah yang baik (ukuran dan bentuk tubuh, kondisi ambing, sifat keibuan, karakter dan pengelolaan reproduksi). Field survey and focus group discussion were conducted to find the fact and the real situation of the farmers groups. Dairy farmers in group has colony housing for their cows together in a large dairy shed with individual responsibility on feeding and maintaining their cattle. A total of 100 respondents participated in the study. The sampling was done by using judgmental sampling method with the following criteria: (1) respondent has bought animal-based food products within the last month of the study; (2) respondent’s age was over 18 years old. The data were analyzed descriptively and by using regression analysis. The objective of this research is to identify the effect of food label information on the adoption process of functional food. The laboratory experiments were conducted with specific and general food label as the experiment treatment. One hundred and ninety-nine subjects were selected; those were the ones who served as decision makers in buying food for themselves or their families. The data was analyzed with the compare means analysis which are paired samples test and independent samples test. The result shows that food label evidently increases subjective and objective knowledge. However, this study does not prove that specific food label with institution certification increases knowledge better than general food label. Consistently, perceive persuasion can not be strengthen by the institution certification in specific food label.

Food consumption pattern in Indonesia has change. Consumption of animal protein food is increasing as income increase. Animal protein foods are come from fish products and livestock products. The aim of this study is to analyze household decision on animal protein food consumption based on socioeconomics determinant of the households. Household expenditure data were used in this study. Discrete choice model is used to measure household decision in consuming these foods. Socioeconomics determinants are measured by Binary Logistic regression to know the influence of these to the household’s decision. Marginal effect value from binary logistic regression analysis showed that households tend to increase consuming animal protein food from livestock products varies from 0.5 to 6.09 times associated to socioeconomic factors of the households. Further research need to analyze nutritional status of the household’s members.

The aims of this research were to calculate marketing efficiency and to identify the information sources of cattle farmers who select direct or indirect channel of cattle selling. This study used a descriptive research design. Respondents in this research were determined by quota and judgmental sampling methods. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews. Data collected were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 66.67% and 33.33% of farmers selected indirect channel and direct channel, respectively. Among the latter, all the farmers sold to butcher, inter-island traders, or end consumers on Muslim religious ceremony. Indirect channel farmers obtained 83.72% of producer’s share, while in the direct selling method farmers obtained the entire share. However, marketing efficiency of indirect marketing channel was better with 20.22 than the direct marketing channel with 29.70.
