  • a key-operated cylinder lock 68 movable with the bolt 64 is provided to lock the bolt 64 in each of the two positions, by means of a latch member which engages the pedal 60 in each position.
  • the length of the bolt 64 is such that, in its projected position, it can engage the wheel 6 or the frame 4 of the bicycle, to prevent the crank turning. Moving the bolt into engagement with the wheel of the bicycle has the advantage that it prevents the bicycle from being wheeled away, as well as preventing it from being ridden.

  • the bar 84 is movable through 180° between a retracted position, shown in Figure 13, in which it lies against the side of the pedal and does not interfere with its normal operation, and a projected position, shown in Figure 12, in which the bar 84 projects inwards from the pedal.
  • a cylinder lock 90 incorporated in the pivot 86 can be operated by a key to lock the bar 84 in each of the two positions.
  • the length of the bar 84 is such that, in its projected position, it can engage the wheel 6 or the frame 4 of the bicycle, to prevent the crank turning.

Abstract

Dispositif antivol incorporé à une bicyclette, dans lequel une pièce faisant corps avec la manivelle de la pédale de la bicyclette, ou étant fixée à celle-ci, peut se mettre en position de verrouillage de sorte qu'elle se trouve en saillie dans le sens latéral par rapport à la manivelle, et qu'elle entre en prise avec le cadre ou l'une des roues de la bicyclette lorsque l'on fait tourner la manivelle, l'utilisation de la bicyclette étant ainsi rendue impossible. On a prévu une serrure destinée à bloquer la pièce en position de verrouillage. Selon un mode de réalisation, l'une des pédales (18) de la bicyclette constitue la pièce de verrouillage, cette pédale (18) étant apte à tourner sur 180° de la position normale à la position de verrouillage dans laquelle elle s'étend vers l'intérieur et entre en prise avec le cadre (4) de la bicyclette. Selon un autre mode de réalisation, la pièce est un élément allongé (64, 84) monté coulissant ou rotatif sur la pédale (60, 80) entre sa position normale et la position de verrouillage dans laquelle il fait saillie vers l'intérieur et entre en prise avec le cadre (4) ou la roue (6) de la bicyclette.
