DESIGN FOR A BUTT-LOAD FOR WHIPS.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,200, dated March 12, 1901.

Application filed December 2'7, 1900. Serial No. 41,288. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known thatI, DAVID C. HULL, a citizen of the United States of America,and a resident of VVest-field, in the county of Hampden and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a certain new and useful Design for a Butt-Load for a Whip, of which the following is a full, clear,and exact description. I

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, in which the butt-load 0f the new design is illustrated, and in which- Figure l is a side View. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal sectional View; and Figs. 3, 4:, and 5 are cross-sectional views taken, respectively, on the lines 3 3, 4 4, and 5 5, Fig. 1.

As shown in the drawings, the leading characteristic and essential feature of my de sign consists in the butt-load for a Whip having a round shaft or stem A of comparatively small diameter and a cylindrical enlargement B near the lower portion of the butt-load,with an end extremity C of less diameter than the said cylindrical enlargement B and which has substantially the form ofahemispheroid. The stem or shaft A is round in cross-section and it adjoins the cylindrical enlargement B in the annular bevel a, while the lower end of the said enlargement at the annular portion I), which joins the cylindrical periphery to the base of the hemispheroid, has a convex contour.

Having now described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for a butt-load for a whip, substantially as herein shown and described.
