DESIGN FOR A WHIP-LOAD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,468, dated August 29, 1899.

T0 on whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, JOHN P. POMEROY, residing at Great Harrington, in the county of Berkshire, and HENRY M. VAN DEUSEN, residing at \Vestfield, in the county of Hampden, State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for \Vhi p-Loads,of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to a new and original design for a whip-load; and the leading feature consists in the peculiar configuration given to the same.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1. is an elevation of a whip-load constructed according to our design. Fig. 2 is a central longitudinal section of the same.
In the said drawings the reference-numeral 1 designates the load, consisting of the shank 2, having a peripheral groove 3 near one end, and of a cylindrical head 4, also formed with a peripheral groove 5 near one end. This head is larger than the shank, forming a' shoulder (3 at its junction with the shank, which is slightly beveled, as shown more clearly in Fig. 2.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim is The design for a whip-load, substantially as herein shown and described.
