DESIGN FOR A STAlR-CARPET BUTTON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,959, dated April 20, 1897.
A li ti fil d March 13, 1897. Serial No. 627,430 Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, DAVID WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New J ersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stair-Carpet Button and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a stair-carpet button, showing my design. Fig. :3 is a central vertical section of the same; and Fig. 3 is a plan of the button, the vertical and horizontal flanges being shown or laid elf in a single plane.
The leading feature of my design consists in the stair-carpet button, which presents to View in side elevation 21 vertical and a horizontal flange disposed approximately at right angles one with the other, the faces of said flanges being semicircular in general outline and ornamented with radial ornaments formed around a rounded central ornament.
In said drawings, a indicates the stair-earpet button; a a", the vertical and horizontal flanges thereof, which lie in planes substantially at right angles one with the other, the face views of said flanges showing them to be semicircular in general outline, with scalloped ornaments e e at the top and forward edges.
\Vithin the semicircular outline the said flanges are ornamented by radiating ornaments 0 c, disposed around a central rounded ornament- E) at the angle. Also at the angle formed by said verl ical and horizontal flanges on the opposite sides of the rounded ornament 1) are series of bead-like ornaments (I (I, the series extending from said central rounded ornament out to or near to the opposite edges of the button.
\l'hat I claim as new is- The design for a stair-carpet button herein shown and described.
