DESIGN FOR AN ATTACHlNG-SOCKET FOR TUBING.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 23,523, dated July 31, 1894.
Application filed February 13, 1894. Serial No. 600,079. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN JAMES VAUTIER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Brooklyn, Kings county, State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Attaching- Sockets for Tubing, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1, is a side elevation of a socket showing my design. Fig. 2, is a perspective view thereof, as seen from the outer end; and Fig. 3, is a perspective view thereof, as seen from its inner end.
My design has two leading features relating respectively to the outer tubular tip portion 1, and to the inner tubular stem portion 2, as follows:
The leading feature of the design of the tip portion 1, consists in the tapering marginal outline given its side walls from its larger central or intermediate portion toward both ends, and the leading feature of the design of the stem portion 2, consists in the series of parallel surface indentations 3, alternating with rib-like projections 4, and presenting to view a spiral arrangement of inclined indentations and projections extending across or around the rear longer portion of the stem.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for an attaching socket for tubing, substantially as herein shown and dc scribed.
