SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,307, dated November 18, 1890.

Application filed October 20, 1890. Serial No. 368,740 Term of patent 3% years.

Beit known that I, JAMES L. FOLSOM, of the city of Brooklyn, count-y of Kings, State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had tothe aocomoanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

f The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein spccically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a' face View of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and border B. The body A consists of interlacing and partly-overlapping spiral forms. The border B consists of a marginal decoration of projecting scrolls and of interlacing and partly-overlapping spiral forms terminating in serrated form and ornamentcd by projecting scrolls on a plain ground.

What I claim is- 1. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. A design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A and border B, substantially as shown.
