To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES L. FoLsoM. of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

The main feature of my design is a prornineutstem-work,which is scroll-shaped in character. Along this stem-work is a succession of leaves, one end of each leaf partly encirportions of the stem, also, there are irregular flower forms.

What I claim as new, and desire to seen re by Letters Patent, is-

The design for carpets, consisting of the design substantially as shown.
