DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,166, dated March 6, 1888.

Application filed January 26, 1888. Serial No.262fi80. Term of patent 31; years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, WILLIAM E. SAYERS, of New York city, in the-county and State of New York,have invented a new and original Design 5 for Carpets, of which the following is aspecification, reference being had to the accompanyiug photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be [0 worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view [5 of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of an irregular mass or body of circular forms resembling burrs and partial leaf forms overlying one another and closely grouped. The circular forms are ornamented with small geometrical figures. The 20 leaf forms are less prominent and less clearly marked or outlined.
