Description

DESIGN.
I. E. PAIMER.
HAMMOGKI 19,110. Patented May 21, 1889.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ISAAC E. PALMER, OF MIDDLETOVVN, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A HAMMOCK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 19,110, dated may 21, 1889.
Application filed November 6, 1888. Serial No. 290,167. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ISAAC E. PALMER, of,
Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Hammocks, of which the following is a specification.
I will describe in detail a design for hammocks embodying my invention, and then point out the novel features in the claim.
The accompanying drawing is a perspective View of a hammock embodying my design.
The design consists, essentially, of a hammock-body in which the body portion A thereof is curved longitudinally or in the direction of its length, while the portions B thereof will have the appearance of being draped from the portion A, and will be longitudinally curved or curved in the direction of their lengths. The portions B also present the appearance of being tapered, and are wavy in parts. I have shown stripes a delineated upon the portions A B of the hammock, which extend approximately parallel to each other and in the same direction; but these may be omitted. Below the portions 13 of the hammock are fringe-like portions 0.
I have not described any of the means shown whereby the hammock-body may be suspended, because the same does not form a part of my design, broadly considered.
What I claim as my design is- The design for a hammock, consisting of the longitndinally-curved portion A and the longitudinally-curved drapery-like portions D, having a Wave-like appearance, substantially as shown and described.
ISAAC E. PALMER.
