DESIGN FOR A HAMMOCK.

SPECIFIGATION forming part of Design No. 23,304, dated May 22, 1894. Application filed April 13, 1894. Serial 1%. 607,488. Term ofpetent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ISAAC E. PALMER, of Middletown, in the county of Middlesex and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Hammocks, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

The leading feature of my design consists in the shape of the hammock provided with a valance hanging in festoons from the edge of the body of the hammock, leaving free spaces at intervals between the upper edge of the valance and the body of the hammock, as

Figure 1 represents the position which the body and valance of the hammock assume when spread out in a plane and Fig. 2 represents the appearance which they assume when the hammock is strung for use.

A represents the body of the ham mock, a the points where the valance is caught to the edge of the body of the hammock and a the intermediate, depending portions of the valance.
