DESIGN FOR AN INKSTAND.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,066, dated July 18, 1882.
Application filed April 8, 1882.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES Gr. SMITH, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Cleveland, in thecounty ofOuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Designs for Inkstands; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being bad to the annexed drawing, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
This design has relation to inkstands; and it consists in the novel form and configuration hereinafter set forth.
In the accompanying drawing, the letter a designates the body portion of the inkstand, which is conical in form, and is marked with diverging lines extending downward, which are crossed by horizontal circular lines, dividing the surface into spaces, in which may be printed, pressed, or otherwise marked figures denoting the numbers ot'the days ot'the month.

may be the names or abbreviations ofthe names of the months of the year, arranged in series, as shown.
0 represents the neck portion, above the body part. cylindrical in form. ()n this part 0 may he the names or abbreviations of the names of the days of the week, arranged in series, as shown.
The whole constitutes adesign for inkstands.
Having described this design, what I claim, and desire to secure. is-
A calendar-inkstand design, consisting of the conical body portion a, surmounted by the cylindrical base and neck portions 1) c, and having the downwardly extending diverging lines and the horizontal circnlarlines, dividing the surface into spaces, substantially as specified.
