To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, KURT Porri-rorr a citizen of the United States, residing 1n Brooklyn, N. Y.,in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in- Combined Pen Wiper and Ink Bottle Supports, of which the following is a specification. V 1

The object of my invention is to provide a combined pen-wiper and ink-bottle sup-' port, which may be quicklysecured to and removed from ink-bottles'of all kinds; but especially adapted for use with bottles used for drafting inks, and which will serve the double purpose of a pen-wiper and an auxiliary support for the bottle preventing spllling of the ink therefrom.

My said invention is disclosed described and claimed in the following specification or which the accompanying drawing forms a part, wherein Figure 1, is a view in elevation of a draftsmans ink-bottle of the ordinary form provided with my improved combined pen-wiper and bottle support; and Fig. 2, is a top-plan view thereof.

Fig. 3, is a partial side view similar to that shown in Fig. 1 of a modified form of my improved combined pen-wiper and bottle support, as applied to a drafting ink-bottle of the form shown in Fig. 1.

Upon the neck A of this is superposed resiliently, an annular-combined pen-wiping and bottle steadying disk B, secured to the neck thereof in any desired manner composed of a plurality of foliated superposed ink absorbing leaves of any suitable material.

Such disk is made up of a plurality of layers or plies C of suitable ink-absorbing fabric, such as soft woven absorbent cotton cloth cut into the form of a circular disk having the central securing orifice D, of just suflicient diameter to snugly and resiliently to clasp the neck A of the bottle A, the construction and arrangement being such that when in position on the bottleneck, the peripheral edge of the disk will drop down upon the supporting table surface E, as indicated in dotted lines in Fig. 1, so as to form a broad annular supporting base E preventing accidental overturning Specification of Letters Fatent, V

stitches (as at F of Fig. 3) or both; which ring G is usually andpreferably of highly elastic Para rubber, but may consist merely of an impregnation of rubber or other like suitable elastic material forming an annular ring around the central securing-orifice D, vulcanized into the various plies of the fabric.

It is evident that many modifications in the construction and arrangement of the several parts of which my combined bottle support and pen-wiper is composed, other than those set forth herein, may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of'my invention; as I do not intend to limit myself strictly to the exact form or forms of construction hereinbefore set forth.

I claim 1. A bottle support comprising, with a bottle and a plane surface for resting the bottle-base thereon, an annular disk composed of superposed leaves of flexible material made slightly rigid through super-position of the leaves, means for securing the leaves together adjacent to the bottle neck in superposed relation, the remaining port1on of said leaves belng free and in superposed relation, and annular means for resiliently engaging the bottle neck to secure said disk thereto; the peripheral edge of the disk being engageable With said plane surface to prevent overturning of the bottle.

2. A bottle support comprising, with a bottle and a plane surface for resting the bottle-base thereon, an annular disk com-' posed of superposed leaves of flexible ink absorbing material made slightly rigid through super-position of the leaves, means for securing the leaves together adjacent to the bottle neck in superposed relation, the remaining portion of said leaves being free and in superposed relation, and vannular means for-resiliently engaging the bottle neck to secure said'disk thereto; the peripheral edge of the disk being engageable with said plane surface to prevent overturning of the bottle.

A bottle support comprising an annular-diskhaving a central orifice fitting the bottle-neck, and being comprised of aplurality of foliated laminated superposed absorbent leaves annularly secured together adjacent to the central securing orifice and unsecured at the edges, and an elastic soft rubber securingring of substantially L! shaped form in cross-section secured in the central orifice of the disk, and overlapping the same at top and bottom.

6. The combination With a bottle, of a flexible absorbent disk-like member having a central orifice formed in and through the same provided With an elastic peripheral securingring portion adapted to be slipped upon the bottle-neck so as to tightly engage the same, the edges of which disk-like memher When the bottle is tilted Will by contact With the table or other support prevent complete overturning of the bottle and consequent spilling of the contents.
