HENRY HUNT, OF JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO HARTFORD CARPET COMPANY, OF HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 12,088, dated January 4, 1881.
Application led September 18, 1880. Term of patent 3?; years.
To all whom it may conce/rn:
Beit known that I, HENRY HUNT, ot' Jersey City, in the county ot" Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for a Carpet, ot' which the followingis a specification.
This invention relates toa new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration ot' figures hereinaftermore fully described.
Theaccompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having lny new design.
Upon and over a background presenting the appearance of an interwoven or interlaced fabric stretch vine-like branches A A A2 A3 A4 A5A6. These branches divide into stems and twigs ornaiuented with serrated leaves b b b. Upon these vine-like branches appear at intervals rosettes ot' varied shapes and sizes, c d c 1L j k l, generally marking the junction of two or more branches. 'lhese branches bear also ower-like gures f, which resemble somewhat a tulip, and g, which is a conical rose-like iigure, and i, showing a flower-like ligure with leaves like the spokes of a wheel, and m, an oblong flower with serrated edges, and m', a tlower ligure with its outer leaves widely open, and n, a pendent bud-like gure. These vines and tlowers are somewhat connected by branching leaves and buds.
