T0 ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that I, W. W. FINCH, of Mishawaka, in the county of St. Joseph, and in the State of Indiuna., have invented new and useful irnprovements in Mop-Wringers anddo hereby decla-re that the followingis a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of referenceV marked thereon. l

In the annexed drawings, making part of this specification, A represents a metellc frame, which consists of aJ single wire, bent in the form seen, with its ends connected together by means of a. crossbar, B. C is also a, cross-bar, secured between the two side-pieces of the frame for a support or brace. D represents aired, provided at one end With ahcndle, H, and at the other witha bar, E said bar being secured at its centre to the end of the rod, and made forked at each end. The rod D passes through holes in the centres of thebars C and B made to receive it. The frame A is bent so as to be narrower at :c :u than it is the balance of its length. The bar E is made long enough so as not to touch the side-pieces of the frame, except et that point Xvhere the frame is made narrower, ,and at this point x :u the fratrie sidos'iit snugly in the forked ends of the bar E, solas to prevent said bar from turning. .F represents the mop-cloth, one end of which is secured to thelow-er end of the frame A, and the otherend to the har'E. y v

When I Wish to use ,the mop for washingand scrubbing I thrustithe rod D down until the forked ends of the rod E catch on the sides of the frame at its lower end et :u rv. A spring, G, upon the handle I-I, catches upon the bar B, andkeeps the rod down in the' proper position. When I Wish to wring the mop-cloth I raise or loosen the spring, draw the rod D upso as to diseugage it, and then, by turning it around and around, I twist the cloth so as to wring the dirty water from it.

Having thus fully described my invention, whntI claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is The forked bar E upon the end of the rod D, used in combination with'the frame A, contracted at the end, in the manner and for the purposes specified.
