To all whom it may concern..-
Be it known that I, HYPPOLITE DOUBLIER, a citizen of the French Republic, residing at Paris, France, have invented a new and useful Hoop for Children, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
My invention relates to the piece of childrens toys known under the name of hoop, and consisting of a simple band or ring, which may be provided witha hub or not and which is rolled by means of light blows with a stick or by means of a guide-handle.
The new hoop is illustrated in the annexed drawings, wherein Figures 1 and 2 show the new hoop in elevation and side View, and Fig. 3 shows a transverse section of the folly or jaunt.
My invention consists of a ring or circular support A, showing in section the form of a V or Y, Fig. 3, in the hollow of which ring A, I arrange wooden pins E for the reception of points for fastening the band B, which encircles the circular support A, and is made of a strap the ends of which are beveled and jointed with some adhesive. In the hoop thus formed by the combination of the support A and the band B, Isuspend bellsD D by means of little clamps O. The ring or cycle thus composed, which I call Oyclesonne, constitutes the present invention. As in other hoops, a hub may be arranged in the same and held by means of light spokes, and on its axle a guide-handle may be arranged.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A new toy hoop for children,-formed of a band B and the ring or metallic support A, pins E in the hollow of. said ring, and the bells D D, suspended to the little clamps O, substantially as hereinbefore described and set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
