SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Application tiled December :28, 1881.
llo all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PETER S. HIOKMAN, of Mount Pleasant, in the county ot' Isabella and Slate of Michigan, have invented an' Improvement in Quilting-Frames, ot' which the following' is a specification.
The nature of this invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in the construction of quilting-frames; and the invention consists in the peculiar construction, arrangement, and various combinations ot' the parts, all as more fully hereinafter set forth.
The drawing represents my invention in perspective.
In the accompanying drawing, which forms a part of this specification, A represents suitable horses mounted upon suitable legs, a. One end ot' each of these horses is provided with a pin, b, while the other or opposite ends are provided with adjustable slides B, which are provided with pins c. These slides are secured upon the horses in dovetail guides, and are held to their adjusted position by means ot' the set-screws D.

and these rails, as ivell as the horses, are provided with a suitable webbing, e, upon one edge or side, by means of which the work to` be quilted can readily be secured to the frame, as in the ordinary manner.
It will be seen that by the use of the adjustable pin-slides B, I am enabled to more properly and evenly stretch the Work than in the use of the ordlnary frame, and as the man ner of using a frame ot' this character is so Well known a further description thereof has been deemed unnecessary.
What I claim as my invention is--h The horses A, having` pins b and dovetail guides, the side rails, C, having holes d, the adjustable slides B, having pins c, and the setscrew D, all constructed, combined, and adapt* ed to serve together as and for the `purposes set forth.
