iMPRovEMENT in wAsH-BoARDs.
Specieation forming part of Letters Patent No. 192,254, dated June 19, 1877; application filed April 11, 1877.
To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, JOHN GRAVES, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented an Improved Vash-Board, of which the following` is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had t-o the accompanying drawing, and the letters of reference marked thereon, making part of this specifica` tion, in which- Figure 1 is a top-plan View. Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional View on the line was, Fig. l. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional View on the line y y, Fig. l.
My invention relates to a new article ofV as shown in Fig. 3. G is the rcceptaclevat the top of the wash-board for soap or for clothing, and is formed by depressing that portion of the board next'to the corrugations, and making the top of the board incline toward the same, as shown in Fig. 2. Among the advantages of my improved wasl1board may be enumerated the fact that, by stamping the entire board out of one piece of metal, there is no danger of any of its parts becoming loose, thus rendering the washboard worthless.
Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
A wash-board consisting of the crimped body, .the top C, and the side pieces B B, all stamped from a single piece of sheet metal, as and for the purpose specified.
