JOHN VAN DER ELST, Oh NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A CLOTHES-PIN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,412, dated December 16, 1890.
Application filed October 81, 1890. Serial No. 369,981; Term of patent 315 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN VAN DERELST, a citizen of the United States, residing at New ark,in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Clothes-Pins; and I do hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the artto which it apperbains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the newlydesigned clothes-pin; and Fig. 2 is a section of the same, taken on line as.
The leading feature of the design consists in the round shape in cross-section of the prongs in connection with the peculiar tortuous shape of the same in front elevation shown in the drawings and herein described.
In the drawing a is the clothespin. b b are the united prongs thereof, which are round in cross-section, as indicated in Fig. 2, and on their outer sides are convex, as at c c, concave, as at (l (7, then again convex, as at e e, and again concave, as at f f, the pin being ring-shaped at one end, asnt g,and at the opposite end the extremities of the prongs flaring outwardly, as shown.
what I claim is- The design for a clothes-pin herein shown and described.
