IMPROVEMENT IN SHOE-BUCKLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 183,789, dated October 31, 1876; application filed August 12, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE H. BANISTER, of the city of Newark, and State of New Jersey, have invented an Improvement on Shoe- Buckles, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
The improvement consists in a retention of all the advantages of the double tongued buckle patented to Isaac Banister, March 16, 1864, No. 41,900, adding thereto the feature of an ornamented center, at the same time both simplifying and cheapening the construction.
The drawings show in Figure 1 aface view, and in Fig. 2 an edge view, of the construction of the buckle.
The one strap securing the buckle to the shoe is passed through the apertures a and b curved plate provided with the slots a b e f and pin d upon the central bar 0, all adapted for use substantially as shown and described.
