- a cord-guide for delivering a cord entirely within the overseam produced by said stitchforming mechanism, a cord-cutter, and cordengaging means having cord pull-back and slack-giving motions between sewing periods for pulling a measured length of cord back through the cord-guide and for pro ducing slack in the cord before the start of the next sewing'period to obviate the denger of slippage of the cord relative to the initial stitches.
