CHARLES Lnrrzowrrz, or NEWARKQNEW JERSEY.
CARB OY.y
Application filed July 3, 1923. Serial No. 649,337.
My invention has for its object to providea carboy having a body in whichare disposed corner pieces with grooves for receiv.
ing lateral supporting members, which are provided with members having grooves for receiving additional lateral supporting members disposed at an angle to the firstmentioned lateral supporting members.
Another object of the invention isto provide a carboy with a cushion having horizontal members spaced a aart with theirends secured to supports, the horizontal members having a member between their ends disposed at an angle to the` said horizontal members.
Additional objects of the. invention will appear in the following speciiication, in which the preferred form of the 'invention is described. i
In the drawings similar reference'characters refer to similar parts in all ofthe views, in which- Figure l is a sectional view on the line l-l of Figure 2.
Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation showing the carboy.
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary sectional view, showing in perspective the arrangement of the lateral supporting members, and n Fig. 4 is a perspective view yillustrating the cushion on the bottom of the carboy.
By referring to the drawings it will be seen that the body A of the carboy is hollow, and in the carboy there are disposed corner pieces B, these corner pieces being situated at the corners of the carboy, as best shown in Figure l of the drawings.
The corner pieces B have grooves C inA which are disposed lateral supporting inembers D, there being disposed against the lat l eral supporting members D and preferably secured thereto additional corner members E, the corner members E abutting against the corner pieces B, is shown in Figure l of the drawings. The corner members have grooves F in which are disposed lateral supporting members Gr.
It will be understood that the lateral supporting members Gr may be removed from ythe grooves F, and that the lateral supporting members Dpmay be removed from the grooves C, which makes it possible to readily replace thelateral supporting members or G, should they be rbroken in service.
At the bottom of the carboy A. a .cushion H is disposed, the cushion H having horin zontal members I, the ends of which are secured to supports J, said horizontal members I being connected by a member K disposed between andA spaced from the supports The member K may be secured to the horizontal members I in any suitable manner.`
What I claim is:
l.y In a carboy, a hollow body, members in thefbody7 provided with grooves, lateral supporting members disposed in the grooves and having members with grooves, and additional lateral supporting members extending at angles to the first-mentioned lateral supporting members disposed in the lastnientioned grooves.
2. In a carboy, a hollow' body, members disposed in thehollow body and having grooves, lateral supporting membersr disposed in the grooves, additional. ymembersy with grooves disposed against the lateral supporting members and abutting against the first-mentioned members, and additional lateral supporting members disposed in the last-me-i'itionedA grooves.
Deo
corner members in the body disposed at the corners and provided `with grooves, lateral supporting members disposed in the grooves and provided with members having grooves. and additional supporting members extending -at angles to the first-mentioned lateral supporting members and disposed in the last-mentioned grooves.
4. In a carboy, a hollow bodyhaving portions with iuuer grooves, lateral supporting members disposed in the grooves and provided `with members with grooves, and additional ylateral supporting members disposed at angles to the tirst-inentioned lateral supporting members anddisposed in the last` mentioned grooves.
5. In a carboy, a cushion member having depending supports with members spaced apart with their kends secured to the supports, and another member' disposed at an angle to the second-mentioned member and` secured thereto.
