CORN-CUTTER PROTECTOR.

Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, FRANK E. MOONEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Logansport, in the county of Cass and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corn-Cutter Protectors, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This lnvention provides protection for the hand, arm, shoulder, and neck'of a person engaged in cutting corn and the'like.

The details of the device will be a parent from the accompanying drawing, orming part hereof, when read in connection with the description, the drawing showing a preferable'embodiment of the invention.

Like reference-characters refer to corresponding parts in the views of the drawing, of which Figure 1 is a view of the device in place on the person of a user; and Fig. 2 is a view showing the collar open and the glove separated from the sleeve.

Having more particular reference to the drawing, 3 designates a sleeve, having permanently connected at its top a shoulder covering 4, to which latter is permanently connected a collar 5 arranged to encircle the neck of a user and to be held in place by fasteners 6 the members of which are positioned in the meeting or lapping portions of the collar, as shown. The lower end of the sleeve terminates in a cuff 7, to which is connected a glove 8, the. love being connected to the cuff by separa le fasteners 9 or by buttons or the like, so tlit the glove may be removed easily without removing the sleeve. The cuff laps the glove, that is, the upper or wrist portion of the glove is inside of the cuif.

It will be seen that this device constitutes a covering for the hand, arm, shoulder and neck of a user. The device is made of strong and tough textile or other suitable material that cannot be penetrated easily by a corn-knife or the like, so that when such an instrument accidentally comes into contact with a covered part injury thereto will be revented.

l l aving thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A protector of the class described, comprising a sleeve, having a end portion, .and having permanently connected thereto at its top a shoulder covering, and a collar permanently connected to said covering, means on the collar to maintain it in place around the neck of a user, and a glove detachably connected to said cufl'.
