IMPROVEMENT IN CHI LDRENS BIBS.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom it may concern.

Be it known that I, ADALINE L. THOMSON, of Hudson City, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and useful rovement in Childrens Bibs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification.

A is the bib, which is made of any water-proof or suitable material, to cover the front portion or stomach of the child so as to protect the dress.

Bis a pocket or trough at the bottom of the bib, and is designed to catch and hold any liquid which indicate corresponding may be spilt upon the bib, thus preventing such liquid from running onto and soiling the childs dress.

This pocket is formed either by turning up the bottom of the bib and sewing it up at the sides of the My invention consists in an improved bib for chilchild or ends of the pocket, or by attaching a separate piece for the front of the pocket.

These sleeves are attached to the arm-holes of the bib by elastic strings, tapes, or cords D D. These elastic connections allow the sleeves to be drawn onto the arms, over the sleeves of the dress, without difliculty.

E E are the arm-holes through the bib.

The elastic strings D D are attached to the upper portions of these holes, so that the sleeves will be held up by the elasticity of the strings or straps.

- The lower portions of the sleeves are provided with elastic bands for confining the sleeves around the wrists, as seen in the drawing.

The advantages of this improvement will be readily appreciated by mothers and nurses, and must be obvious to all. 7

Having thus described my invention,

I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. The elastic straps or cords D D combined with the sleeves O O of a bib, as and for the purpose specified.

2. A bib, consisting of the body A, sleeves G U, and turned-up bottom B, as specified.
