Abstract

The invention relates to a method and to equipment for carrying out the method, which have the object of producing high-grade end products, such as charcoal, pyrolysis gas or synthesis gas, from so-called biomasses. The starting point for this purpose is the known pyrolysis process which, according to the invention, effects frequent contact of the processing particles having a maximum size of 20 mm in a fluidised bed generated by means of air, purging gas or steam. The pyrolysis gas formed can be taken off wholly or partially, like also the charcoal, from this stage of the method. If the pyrolysis gas is fed in the course of ascending gasification to a fluid bed, the valuable synthesis gas is produced. The equipment for carrying out the method contains, in a tower-like structure, two superposed gratings and outlets for charcoal, for feeding charcoal for the fluid bed, heating zones for providing cracking temperatures, feeders for air and/or steam and outlets for gases.
